Gavert Atelier Gives Beverly Hills a New Spin on Hair Salon Treatments

If you read my post from last week about my hair cut experience (2 weeks ago (and maybe had a peek at the photos before and after), you will probably be interested in this post.
As I said there would be more because there is MUCH more to this fabulous celeb-studded salon that’s doesn’t leave one feeling over-crowded or rushed. It’s new location is really nice and a neat walking distance from the public Beverly Hills garages.

The atelier is a pioneer in the natural hair care industry, the salon uses ammonia-free, oxidative pigment color and features fabulous cuts, blow-outs, styling and color. The super-deep washing bowls making hair washing a real treat with the endorphin-inducing head massages.
One of the newest additions to this atelier is what’s affectionately called the Hair Spa or the Hairway to Heaven (a second floor loft space for mind-blowing scalp treatments and massages). The specially trained staff treat you to a mind-bending, mood-altering experience that will leave you feeling like silly putty or having gone on a hair-ful satori.

From the cream oil treatment that is massaged into your scalp slowly and completely, even more is applied as it spreads throughout your hair to saturate every strand. After about 20 minutes of shiatsu massage, you are lead to a Nagomi chair which is completely adjustable so that you can get the perfect height, support and comfort for your entire body.
The oil is rinsed out, then shampooed out carefully- again with a scalp massage–, then conditioner is applied. It gets even better with a hot steam mist blowing on your hair throughout this entire process.

Your head is carefully lifted (not by you– by the technician) and wrapped up with a towel and then very hot water is poured into the basin as the towel acts as a wick to soak up all the hot water and it becomes a thermal treatment that is so luxurious. You get to sit there as you melt into this treatment and become relaxed goo and then they gently rinse it out and comb your hair out carefully. It’s absolutely the most addictive, indulgent treatment I think I have ever had!!
After that, walking is not walking– but floating carefully downstairs!!
