“Ace reporter” Lark Lennox had a serious run-in with a product she bought to replace a product she had been using to remove eye make-up. Knowing that Sally’s Beauty Supply was a good resource for less-expensive, but effective, beauty products, she headed for her local Sally’s store, where she went for

Here’s a warning about the Beyond Belief Skin Renewal Eye Makeup remover pads that I got at Sally’s yesterday. (I seem to have developed a sensitivity to my old standby Almay pads so I thought I’d try Sally’s.) I sent this review to the Sally’s site.
“I used this once and ended up spending 10 minutes flushing my eyes with cold water to try to stop the pain. I followed up with plain saline eyedrop “tears” (though I was producing plenty of my own tears naturally). I tried to go to sleep but the burning kept me awake for at least an hour. The following morning, my eyes are extremely bloodshot.
I’ve been sensitive or allergic to a few products in the past, but this is the first time I’ve worried that the product could cause permanent damage.”
While we searched Sallybeauty.com for the information, her complaint is not listed (yet). There is another complaint on that site about the product, as well as one positive review. Can’t wait to see if Sally’s Beauty Supply will do anything about this. Lark did return the product to the store and the staff seemed unimpressed and unconcerned about Lark’s product complaint. One wonders what’s up with that. Given Lark’s experience, maybe this is one product we should all skip!

I love this product. I have never found a better one for me. It doesn’t make my eyes all oiled up and it never has burned my eyes. I have been using these pads for over ten years and I just hate that I can’t find them any place now. I pray Beyond Belief will come out with another eye makeup remover that will work as well and people won’t do it in like they did this one!
