If you are Anglophile or a lover of the BBC & Masterpiece Theater Classics, you will recognize the work of Andrew Davies— not in front of the camera but in crafting novels for film as well as television. This master of creating enticing, enthralling and intoxicating films has written so many screenplays that you wonder how he could have much time for life.
Andrew Davies is an amazing man — he’s got a great grasp history, of writing unique and interesting characters.
Andrew Davies was here in LA for the Television Critics Association Tour and courtesy of WGBH/PBS and Olivia Wong I was able to interview Andrew Davies along with Timothy Spall (Oliver Twist, best known for a role in Harry Potter) and Claire Foy (Little Dorrit)
Here’s the interview with Andrew Davies (I could have talked to him for a much longer period– particularly since he did the screenplay of Bridget Jones and the Tailor of Panama)
