She recently returned to work on the Desperate Housewives determined to fight this disease both personally and professionally– by using the power of the media to bring attention to the importance of finding more successful treatments and potentially a cure for lung cancer.

Joosten’s concern is that while smoking is actually going down, lung cancer is continuing to increase and particularly in women who don’t smoke.
