NYFW: Get the Golden Glow of Cesar Galindo Courtesy of Milani Cosmetics!!

Thanks to Nancy Lichtenstein for this piece which is a follow-up to her pieces on Cesar Galindo. It did take some mutual sleuthing– (and a purchase on both our parts to test drive these incredible products) but we nailed it down for you. We got “serious” beauty goods for you!

The best makeup look at New York Fashion Week was from a drugstore line, which is great news for those of us feeling the pinch. We loved the color by Milani at Cesar Galindo so much we had to go straight to the source for how to do it at home.
Following are some instructions courtesy of Ashunta Sheriff, lead makeup artist at the show and MA to Alicia Keyes, and manicurist Melissa Bozant.

Melissa did a special holographic manicure, which featured Milani Specialty Nail Lacquer in 3D Holographic 509 HD as a base coat, 3D Holographic 509 HD as a topcoat, and highlights in Nail Art Lacquer 701 Art of Gold.

These aren’t available until February 2010, but they promise to be the newest, freshest look in nail color. Bookmark this page and come back to it mid-winter when you need some glow!

As for the makeup look, Ashunta prepped the faces with Smooth Finish Crème-to-Powder foundation, Bronzer XL All-Over Bronzer, and HD Advanced Concealer for Eye and Face in order to give a luminous, radiant finish.

She says, “Cesar’s show was inspired by a futuristic version of Dynasty–the twist is that the females are aliens!”

To bring light to the eyes and make them pop, she used Runway Eyes Fashion Shadows in 07 Ready to Wear.
The gold shade went in the inner corner and on eyelids, and then she used the charcoal to smoke the edges of the eyes.

Next she applied Glitter Easyliner for Eyes in 06 Black Rocks (this will be available in stores in Feb. 2010 and we can’t wait to get our hands on it).
Ashunta lined the lower lids halfway to make the eyes look wider, and finished the look with gold Crystal Eyez Sparking Eye shadow 03 Stunning and Sparkly (in stores Dec. ’09–I know what I want for Christmas!).

She then muted the brows with foundation in order to make the eyes stand out even more, and completed the look with Demi Wispies Lashes by Ardell (attached with Duo Adhesive) and Milani’s Power Lash Mascara.

As for the lips, Ashunta says, “I wanted to create an other-worldly lip that was as shiny and metallic as the fabric and beading in Cesar’s show.”

She used the Runway Eyes Ready to Wear again here, scraping one of the gold eye shadow bars and mixing it with Buzz Worthy Lip Gloss in 02 Busy Bee.
This metallic gold lip is one of the freshest fall lip looks I’ve ever seen, but if you’re too shy to go out on the street like this you can also use Glitzy Glamour Gloss in Ladylike for a less dramatic look that will still make you shine.

Runway Eyes Kit– and this is a MUST buy and it’s less than $10!!
Finishing touches were Body Bronzer Cream and Bronzer XL All Over Glow on the arms and legs.

I can’t wait for the new Milani stuff to come out, but in the meantime I’m running out to get Runway Eyes in Ready to Wear to bring a little Fashion Week glamour home with me.

Here’s a shot of the make-up table with the products laid out for Ashunta to use on the models. This is a KILLER look
If your social calendar is full for fall, pick up some Milani and you’re sure to shine as bright as the biggest star!

Thank you to Nancy Lichtenstein for the great detective work and the willingness (on both coasts) to go out and find the great products– and they are amazing. Find them at CVS.com and also Walgreens as well as Milanicosmetics.com — the key place to find all the products currently available. (I sure had a good time shopping!)
