Secrets of the Red Carpet: Platinum Guild Glitters with Gems & Stars!!

Hitting the Platinum Guild is a staple on the road to the Red Carpet and it’s really not much of a secret — except where it’s located because you have to get by so much security, it’s not funny. Understandable when you are dealing with $30+ million dollars of gems on the table.
However it’s always a great place to stop and catch up and even celebrity-spot when they are there. (Seth Green and his girlfriend were there along with Todd Halman, noted stylist and fashion editor, along with a few others that we aren’t supposed to mention–ssshh!!)
Talking to Michael O’Connor is always a great time and he’s picked out a lot of things to show us and I have photos of most everything!

Cutting edge modern collar: Shibuki by Yuka Kobayashi for Kuwayama
The Shibuki necklace is the second one-of-a-kind necklace in a series of water-inspired pieces commissioned by Platinum Guild International. Shibuki, which is Japanese for “splash,” features platinum and diamonds in a unique, water motif.
The artist was inspired by water splashes shining from the reflected light of the sun were expressed by setting diamonds amongst the platinum to create a sense of different textures. The necklace contains 158 grams of platinum and diamonds, totaling 5.52 carats.
