The Night at the Village at the Womens Conference 2009 was a powerful night to gather women (and media) together to hear speakers as a group, to meet and talk to authors while buying their books and to shop through “the village” of exhibitors and through Maria’s shop of items comemorating the 2009 conference. Please watch the videos. Please scroll down.
While I was hitting the Village hard working on interviews, I managed to snap a bit of Jillian Michael’s talk — and the part I got was very potent. She was really picking up steam when someone stepped into my line of vision and stood there and that was the end of the video.

Why did I include this? Listen to Jillian’s powerful message. Her candor and authenticity are so clear that you — as a woman– can accomplish anything. Stop sitting back and letting others take credit for things you are doing. You are strong, you are powerful, you are brave. You are a creator; a leader, an innovator; a role model, and a master of juggling many things which means you wear many hats, manage many tasks and make sure you accomplish a lot with little fanfare. it’s time for you to stand up for yourself and take credit for all that you do, all that you have accomplished; all that you aspire or dream to be. Those dreams can come true. Have faith for you have done much. Don’t let anyone hold you back. Don’t stop and think that you can’t do something. You can– because everything you have already done has lead you to this one point to stand up and create, lead, and innovate.
Take each day and accomplish simply one thing toward your goal– no matter if it’s paying off a credit card bill by skipping that take-out cappucino or dropping weight by taking that 10 minute break and walking at work or learning something new by taking a telecommute class. You can do anything you have set your mind to because you have already survived so much. You are empowered. You are strong. You will win. Have faith and believe that you can– because once you do, that’s over 50% of the battle.
