NYFW Fall 2010: Nancy Lichtenstein Gives Napoleon Perdis Beauty Breakdown for Elise Overland!

Nancy Lichtenstein seems to love NYFW 2010. She’s been writing about it for eons. What’s nice is that she’s picking a variety of looks that can be worn now and some at night and others that will give you a more dramatic look for fall. This one seems to be a very universal look as you can tell from the models!

Makeup at New York Fashion Week Fall 2010 seemed to veer between two extremes–no makeup or heavy drama. Here’s a look from Napoleon Perdis for Elise Overland that falls nicely in between, for those times when you need a little color but you don’t want to be mistaken for a silent movie actress that features defined but not exaggerated eyes and cherry-popsicle lips.

First Napoleon primed the face with Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer to create a smooth, perfect surface and then added Stick Foundation to provide coverage and set it with Camera Finish foundation powder for a silky glow.
Next, the eyes were contoured with Color Discs in #13 Periwinkle and #27 Charcoal, and lined on the inner rims with China Doll eyeliner (a brilliant gel formulation that’s easy to use) in Equinox.
Finally, lips were treated with Luminous Lip Veil (a sheer, shiny gloss) in Cherchez La Femme.
This look is wholesomely pretty and with the gel eyeliner and wand lip gloss you can apply it in under five minutes as long as you have a push brush (the Napoleon Perdis website offers a few different sizes in both synthetic and sable).

Thank you to Nancy Lichtenstein for her time on this beauty breakdown. I love Napoleon Perdis cosmetics and you might find a couple of interviews in the archives. His take on make-up is amazing!!
