Make a Difference! Get Your Voice Heard Re Vote on Health Care Reform

I have talked about health care and while I was trying to frame each blog post, the health care reform/bill changed enough to make me scrap almost every post I wrote.
Thankfully there is Jeremy Lewis whose blog is The Public Insurance Option and his website is here http://www.jclis.com/

His list of posts on the health care subject date back quite a while and here’s the list so you can catch up on the evolution of the state of health care and where the White House started, what happened with Congress as well as the twists, turns and slips as Obama and crew failed to convince his constituency– that means you and me– that this bill
1) would solve the problems that people were facing
2) that it wouldn’t cause catastrophic changes in the health industry and more specifically in the health insurance industry as they have geared up to lobby (read campaign funding) for various legislators
3) will the reconciliation bill that’s being touted or promised actually take care of the problems?
4) the question I have is why not take ONLY the points that both houses agree on with Obama and pass that?
5) after completing #4, then go back into

insurance company reform a la finance, mortgage and banking reforms that were implemented. NO ONE has the right to earn what Anthem’s CEO is making.
The denial of coverage and cut people off due to serious and simple reasons (simple includes seasonal allergies. Yes– -it’s true. I know someone who was denied coverage for herself and her family of 3 children because of her seasonal allergies.)
Portability is an essential element for those who are in the workforce
Wipe out the pre-existing clauses
Scrap the pork barrel out of the bill — particularly the Nebraska free pass. NO state deserves a free pass on the cost of healthcare when it will benefit their constituency as well. No one should get a free pass– except the people who are desperately poor– particularly those out of work and the elderly!!

Yes.. there are 18 parts to this and they aren’t too lengthy and Jeremy is good at making sense out of the yelling and shouts from both sides of the aisle as well as the proclamations from the White House.
Thank you to Jeremy Lewis for keeping me in the loop on these posts and the twists and turns of the issues here. You should be following him on Twitter and Facebook!
The biggest issue here is that everyone wants to be “right” and “win” . Unfortunately no one is going to be right and no one is going to win — and particularly the American people.
President Obama, I know I voted for you but I think you didn’t do your best to communicate with the public and I think you didn’t hear us clearly about what we did want and didn’t want. People, regardless if you agree with me or not, I know there is something in this bill you don’t like or want. Get on the phone, fire up the computer and contact your legislators and tell them what your thoughts are. Call or email the White House and tell them.
For a president who won office based on his ability to use social media to communicate, you blew this one big time. I can’t say how much confusion has been caused but it’s ticked off the US population beyond belief — to the point where they want to empty Congress and start over again with new leaders, new legislators who understand the need to get the insurance industry on a tight, short leash because we are being drained financially supporting a for-profit health insurance system that doesn’t serve the people who pay them. Otherwise why would Anthem/Wellpoint have had their biggest profit year ever? I don’t feel sorry for Anthem, Wellpoint or any healthcare company. They can spin all the yarn they want, but it won’t create sutures or treatments for those who are ill.
Serving only the healthy is a contradiction in terms for health care insurance.
