For the past 16 years, the Los Angeles Film Festival has been a cinematic event –showcasing the world’s best independent features including premieres of hit films like The Devil Wears Prada and Sunshine. Having grown from a small event that was very much an industry-only curated event, it’s now much larger and reaches out to Angelenos, US and the globe for entries and audiences. The Festival connects the movie-loving public to critically acclaimed filmmakers, film industry professionals, and emerging talent in the heart of Los Angeles, the entertainment capital of the world. http://www.lafilmfest.com/2010/
The 2010 Festival will present 200 features, shorts, and music videos from more than 40 countries including the Pat Tillman documentary, The Tillman Story; Focus Feature’s The Kids Are All Right; and Revolución, a collaboration by ten renowned Mexican filmmakers.

The Festival features unique signature programs including the Filmmaker Retreat, Ford Amphitheater Outdoor Screenings, Poolside Chats, and more. The Festival screens short films created by high school students and has a special section devoted to music videos which sets this film festival apart from any other- because LA is where rock music and video collide in spectacular collision.
The Los Angeles Film Festival is produced by Film Independent, a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization dedicated to promoting and supporting independent films and filmmakers. Film Independent produces the acclaimed Spirit Awards, honoring vanguard films that embody innovation and originality. It is also supported by American Express, without who’s contribution and visibility in making show passes affordable and easy to obtain– the LAFF would not have grown to the stature and capacity it has. LAFF starts on June 17-27 and is jam-packed within a small area of downtown LA to allow you maximum exposure in the shortest amount of driving and/or walking distance
