Lucky for me I was able to talk to Raphael Cohen, of the Raphael Salon.

His celebrity-filled salon has moved from its’ Burton Way location to the hip, hot & happening location on Roberston across the street from Louboutin Shoes and other nifty places on the street like Phillip Lim 3.1 to shop or eat. Talk about celebrity-spotting, this is definitely the place!

The interior of Raphael Salon is so uniquely designed with its white Murano Glass chandelier. Each space within the salon has the ability to be private and while the salon can be full, you will hardly be seen.

Done in white, the salon is an amazing space with high ceilings yet doesn’t feel noisy or crowded. It’s has the look, the feel, the ambiance that owner and celebrity stylist Raphael Cohen was seeking for his new location.

However Raphael Salon is not about celebrities but about getting great cuts, colors and other treatments that are totally amazing!

I recently was able to get into Raphael Salon and had a chance to meet Raphael Cohen. The salon was amazing, His products are terrific and do quite a bit. What’s even more stunning is his talent with hair. I got an amazing hair cut that created more movement and gave me more volume in the style and not the stick straight look. I watched intently how he dries hair– which is different from what I have seen others do — working at the roots first to get them dry because that’s where volume comes from. He never once used a flat iron or curling iron on my hair!!
Here’s the photo of my haircut.

It’s perfect for my hair which had a ton of split ends.. and it’s got a lot more movement. I can easily take it wavy without having to use a curling iron.
Definitely check out the great hair products that Raphael has created. He was highly involved in this process and the protein shine product he used on my hair with a light mist of hair spray was perfection! My hair wasn’t stiff or sticky but swingy fun.
Raphael’s treatments include a hair color that is phenomenal. He uses a line of products from France that don’t deplete the hair. I saw someone going platinum and her hair looked great. He also has a unique keratin smoothing treatment that is easy on the hair and gives smoothness but allows for movement and wave without being stuck stick -straight.
Raphael’s hand-picked staff follow his techniques and they are all highly skilled. I never had a hair cut that was so surgically precise in under an hour– and it’s sheer perfection.
If you are interested in testing out Raphael Salon, I highly recommend it. He has clients as far away as San Diego and he goes to NYC once a month. Price ranges for staff members start around $150-$175 (and up depending on treatment). If you want Raphael, the bill is $375-$475 and up depending on what you are having done. Just know that with Raphael there are no more “bad hair days”, and he’s fast, precise and he looks at your hair, your face, your entire body structure as well as what you say you want and how you dress. It’s a combination and he’s got that “hair magic!”
Thank you to Raphael Cohen for his time on the phone and also for the fabulous cut. I love it. My hair is soft, shiny, healthy and now has a lots of texture and movement!!
