Along with a number of other beauty bloggers, I was offered a chance to try Neutrogena’s UltraSheer Liquid Daily Sunblock SPF 70. I was skeptical at first that this sunblock could be easily used as a primer under makeup and so I wanted to try it right away. A key factor to using this product is to shake the bottle well– AKA read the directions. Whoops! I didn’t and thus the first application was a bit uneven but it was entirely because I didn’t use it correctly. However, to give myself sun protection, I shook it really well and applied it over my makeup, giving it the 15 minutes “sink-in” factor before checking out my face. It looked good but I needed to reapply blush.
The next day I did shake it well and applied it quickly across my face. I used about a quarter size pool and it covered my entire face nicely and smoothly. I love the silky texture: there’s no drag or skipping on it. It’s not thick, but goes on like a thin primer. I did apply extra on spots like my nose, chin, ears, cheekbones and forehead. I even used it on my hands. I waited a while for it to sink in, which I used to blow-dry my hair.
The rest of my make up went on perfectly. The foundation applied without dragging. There was no difference from any of the other primers I have used and I like this better than most primers out there because of the non-greasy texture, easy application and that it’s an SPF 70 sunblock. It didn’t feel heavy and there was no chalky look to it at all.
The blend of chemical sunblocks within this product is nice and better than most for my highly sensitive skin. I was pleased that it didn’t irritate my skin at all.
Looking forward to continued use on this . I will be looking to stock up on this product and particularly because there is a $2.00 coupon available for download at http://www.neutrogena.com/suncoupon. That’s a valuable incentive to try this.
