New on the scene is a blogger whom I know and she told me she was constructing a blog and I waited a bit before hitting it. I wanted to give her space to create her voice and she’s done just that. Minimalist OC is quite frankly about minimlism as a lifestyle — particularly in the luxe-driven OC (Orange County, CA. Read Newport Beach, Corona Del Mar, Laguna Beach, Irvine, Mission Viejo, Huntington Beach). I used to live in the OC and I was the fashion editor for the leading regional magazine for just over 2 years and I know what it’s like to live there and sometimes it’s a gauntlet to run while living — and working– in that environment.
What’s so interesting about this blog is that this woman writing it is really sharing her life with you. She’s clear, concise and precise about sharing what happened to her life and how it started going downhill. (Companies downsize and she got into that pit). The details of the story of how she got to where she realized that major life changes needed to occur do matter– though she didn’t have to give us the situation, MInimalist OC shares those with the world.
This isn’t just a financial blog, but it’s also about de-stressing your life by ditching some of the stuff you have. Let’s talk about traveling. I am as guilt as the next person about packing too much stuff. Obviously Minimalist has the same problem as I do and she tells you all about her experiences in hauling 60 pound suitcases by herself when there are no elevators and no porters or bell men.
