Cate Rubenstein is not a household name — yet, but will be. She’s someone I have known for quite some time andshe has created an incredible jewelry line that’s sinfully delicious.

Philosophy
I strive to keep my designs simple, true, powerful, and made from only the purest materials. Each detail has been crafted with care, right down to the clasp on any necklace or bracelet. That means that when it inevitably slips ’round, it will always look just as beautiful, no matter what position. Even when the openings show. Especially when the openings show. It’s my belief that life is like this… or can be. So wear with confidence. True beauty comes from within. But a little sparkle here and there never hurt anybody.
The interesting part of Cate is that she’s brilliant using both sides of her brain– left and right. One of the few who has managed to connect to both sides and do it well.
What enamoured me of this line was that I saw a piece and realized it was the same Cate Rubenstein I knew and was really glad to see something so incredibly unique. Each piece has a distinct presentation and feel. What you can’t see in the photos is perhaps best expressed in the podcasts. Not all pieces in this podcast are still in the collection. It’s my crazy schedule (and 2.5 vacations) that got this one lost in the heap and now is going up. However I will be back with Cate for another podcast with more current information and pieces because she’s had some tremendous success.

Moonshined attended the London Design Fest and London Fashion Week. Thank you, British Design Embassy.
Moonshined Designs has applied for the British Fashion Council’s NEWGEN (New Generation) sponsorship for ’11- the world’s first award to support emerging designer talent.
Moonshined Designs was invited to exhibit at Open Design Italia in Modena, IT this Nov! Open Design Italia typically only accepts European designers, so this is a huge honor. The Open Design Italia seeks to advance high quality, self-produced, limited series designs, and new ways of looking at design.
Moonshined has been invited to launch Spring/ Summer 2011 line in London at a press preview day in November at the very fab Vinyl Factory in Soho.
Moonshined Designs has been invited to exhibit in the JA NY (Jewelers of America) designLAB for emerging designers in February or July– JA NY dates back to 1906, and is considered one of the leading international jewelry events.
Currently working on Spring 2011 designs and lookbook, Cate is pretty darn busy since this podcast was done. While it will be updated, this is pre-accomplishments that were listed above when we did this and there’s a certain tone and insight into this
