The Women’s Conference 2010 was a conference unlike the others. I had attended each of the Maria Shriver-hosted conferences and each had it’s own tone and flavor. This one was more serious, a bit more melancholy because of the end of the tenure of Governor Schwarzenegger, the tenor of the upcoming elections and the economic situation in the country. Along with that wistfulness was a tone of empowerment, an uplifted feeling, and hope.
While the vendor mix was pretty different than last year, there was a more poignant mix of speakers and breakout sessions that included Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden along with lunch-time speakers that pretty much brought you to your knees: Justice Ruth Ginsberg, Honorable Sandra Day O’Connor, Eve Ensler, Laura Bush and poet Mary Oliver and more.
So to start the coverage off on a lighter, more fun note– because I am going to mix the Night in the Village Coverage in with the Conference Coverage, we are going to start off with one of my favorite people: Armani Beauty Creative Director, Tim Quinn. Armani Beauty had their uber-gorgeous VIP tent, thankfully air-conditioned and spacious too. Fun to see Lisa G and the other Armani artists and make new friends.
Here’s the interview with Tim Quinn.

Just a word f warning, there was no second video with Tim. It got insanely busy on Conference Day and I was able to catch him in between running around for a few minutes and instead he introduced me to someone else who had a very powerful story. That’s tomorrow!!
