This is day 8 -and only 4 more days to go before we finish up the 12 drinks of Christmas. That leaves us with New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Sunday after New Years and I rigged the schedule to give you a drink on your first day back to work. Thought y’all migh need that.
This recipe for the Pecan Pie Martini is from our cousins on the right coast. The fine people at the Ritz-Carlton Downtown Atlanta offered me this amazing recipe for a nutty, slightly sweet caramelized martini and it sounds amazing. So despite the horrible weather on both coasts, we can enjoy this one together.
PECAN PIE MARTINI
Slightly sweet but smooth, creamy and definitely toasted.
1 oz Captain Morgan Spiced Rum
3/4 oz Castries Peanut Liqueur
1/2 oz Amaretto Liqueur
1/2 oz Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
1/2 oz Godiva Caramel Liqueur
1 oz cream
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with candied pecans, and rim with sweet toasted spicy pecan crust.
As you can tell, there’s a fair amount of sweet liquor in this one. Sip it slowly. Enjoy the nutty crust around the rim of the glass and just savor this one. After all, it’s a nice southern quality to slow down and enjoy the day…. particuarly at the end of this day.
Thank you to the Ritz Carlton Atlanta for providing this recipe. (you rock!)
