While it’s a bit early to be thinking all about pie and cherry trees, we have National Pie Day and who said you can’t have your “pie” and eat it too– particularly if it’s from SusieCakes Bakery.
What: Created by the American Pie Council, National Pie Day, is dedicated to the celebration of everything pie. In its honor, on Jan. 22, SusieCakes bakery is launching an array of new, specialty pie offerings including Sweetie Pies, a “Home Baker Pie Contest” and Pie-of-the-Month Club at all Southern California SusieCakes’ locations. (A pie of the month club sounds absolutely HEAVENLY– unless you trying to change your eating habits. However SusieCakes Pies are blissfully great and worth the treat)
· Sweetie Pies: The newest trend in pie culture, Sweetie Pies are personal serving sized pies available for individual purchase and enjoyment. SusieCakes’ Sweetie Pies will be available year round in signature flavors including the flaky-crusted Cherry Pie for $5.50 per pie. ( What a deal!!)
· “Home Baker Pie Contest”: The contest launched on January 1 and now there is a winner! SusieCakes asked talented home bakers to submit their favorite pie recipes to them for a chance to have their pie featured in all SusieCakes locations. Lucky winner is having her submission of pie: available in all So. California locations!! The lucky winner is Tamar Gugasian from Orange County. She won with a Sugar Cream Pie with Chocolate Chip Cookie Crust. The pie will be available by the slice (new to SC! one time only!) for $3.95/slice from Sat 1/22- 1/29 or sold as a 9″ ($18.95).
· Pie-of-the-Month Club: On Jan. 22, SusieCakes will launch the Pie-of-the-Month Club. Similar to SusieCakes’ popular Cake-of-the-Month Club, pie lovers will receive a nine-inch specialty pie each month for an entire year. What a gift to give to someone who has everything– or is a real pie-lover or both!! This is a great gift for your guy (dad, brother, significant other) for Valentine’s Day that he will just eat it up.
