BritWeek is a uniquely pan-global event that occurs yearly as a collaboration between business, art, culture and entertainment sectors in the United Kingdom and Los Angeles. The idea behind BritWeek is to highlight and celebrate the partnership between the UK and LA. Given the business in technology, entertainment, fashion and culture, many British citizens live in So. California year-round or or maintain a second residence in the area.

Now in its' fifth year, BritWeek has expanded beyond the LA locale into other areas of California to allow people in the San Francisco area and also Orange County area to have the opportunity to be involved in various events. Los Angeles events start April 26 (lasting much longer than a week) spread across various sectors and areas through May 21. In Orange County (south of Los Angeles), the events include over a week of classic car show sponsored by Jaguar, a golf tournament, a series of pub events and also day of events centered on the Royal Wedding Day!! Orange County events start on April 23 and end on May 5 with the golf tourney.
San Francisco Bay area residents have the opportunity to participate or see an array of events that cover from technology to music starting on April 29 and last through May 12. Two particularly special events include:
Royal Ceremonial Ball (April 29) celebrating the Queen's birthday (Mark Hopkins Hotel);
The Magna Carta at the Legion of the Honor (May 7).
This rather lengthy "week" includes a fun and informative "BritWalk" in LA and San Francisco. It is a self-guided mapped walking tour of different retail establishments that feature British fashions, beauty products and other accessories.

Beyond shopping, there are a number of events that can be found on the www.BritWeek.org site that will help you find the events open to the public – from music to business- and see what catches your fancy. The ability to meet and network with Brits who live and work here in California.
