This blog goes back about 2-3 years. I had been noodling around one of those flash sample sale sites looking for a new fun watch. I don’t recall what site I was shopping but I found a sale for EOS watches that had some really interesting designs. As I recall, they were less than $50 and I bought an orange fabric band watch with a squashed square face in orange– which I liked because the fabric band was interesting but it faded quickly. I also purchased a green mock croc leather band with swarovski crystals on it that made it more of a show-stopping watch. I wound up wearing that one a lot because it got noticed (and so did I).
The orange one got “left behind” and I wore the green one a lot– as in daily. Yes it took a beating. I lost a couple of crystals and even managed to get a small ding in the crystal but it wasn’t noticeable.
However in the last month, I got a crack from that ding but I still wore it constantly. It wasn’t a huge crack. I did price out the cost of replacing the crystal but the cost factor was a bit much.
It became mission critcal to fix the watch when I managed to crack the crystal even MORE and then my favorite watch was not looking so swift.
I started hunting another one down. I started with EOS but the price from the link listed above for the EOS site wasn’t that low at the time.
So I started googling the description and found it on Amazon for just over $50 bucks. I ordered a green one (was hoping for yellow but nada) and it showed up swiftly. I set the time and 3 hours later I noticed the time hadn’t budged. It was NOT a functiional watch.
I called Amazon and told them and they were willing to send me a return label and expedited the shipment for a replacement watch. The replacement watch arrived within 2 days. I could tell the watch was already ticking so I adjusted the time. I loved the look of having my watch back on. I wore it for about a week, then I was walking through my office and heard something drop. I checked on the floor and saw a square piece of metal. I picked it up and looked at it. It wasn’t jewelry but it was different. I then noticed that my watch had rotated around my wrist and the back of the watch has the inner workings exposed. The back had fallen off the watch. I popped it back in but I noticed that it was a bit loose. I contemplated super glue but then realize I would never be able to replace the battery.
The cost of replacing the back would be expensive and I didn’t feel that it was my responsibility since the watch was so new. I called Amazon back and they were very helpful. By this time, I sort of felt that the “Universe” was telling me that the green one had done it’s time with me and to maybe find another watch or another color. In the conversation with Amazon, they sent me the return label and told me they would credit it back to me and I could order a new watch.
So I did….. the same watch in another color — ICE RED— which I thought didn’t look so red but what the heck– I could always return it.
I got the watch yesterday– and it’s just about perfect. It’s not red– it more burnt orange and I am thrilled. It works and I am happy with it. The only thing I need to do is punch another hole or two into the watch band to make it smaller so it doesn’t spin around.
Am I happy? Yes! Do I love it? Yes! It’s the perfect color for me. I just wish it had the gold background to the swarovski crystals but this is an expensive watch on clearance and I am not going to be picky after all that I have been through. I am just happy I have it!
Also Amazon.com does really really well with returns!
