12 Drinks of Christmas: #11: Happy New Year with a Great Cocktail Selection!!

While we all can’t be in California, particularly at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort and Spa with its amazing location and spectacular amenities, there is a way you can get the “feel” and “taste” of staying there courtesy of the Over Vue Lounge that is within the resort.

Here are a few of the Over Vue Lounges favorite cocktails for you to test-drive today. There’s sure to be something that will work for your holiday celebrations!

Salty Carameltini:

2oz Caramel Vodka (Pearl)

1/2oz Godiva Chocolate Liqueur

1/2oz Amaretto di Saranno

Splash Butterscotch Liqueur

Pinch of Kosher Salt

Combine All ingredients in a martini shaker, shake vigorously. Pour into caramel rimmed martini glass

Peppermint Espresso Martini:

1 1/2oz Baileys

1oz Fresh Espresso

1/2oz Peppermint Schnapps

Combine All ingredients in a martini shaker, shake vigorously. Pour into chocolate rimmed martini glass and garnish with 3-4 coffee beans

Adult Gingerale:

2oz King’s Ginger Liqueur

Splash of Angostura Bitters
6oz Sprite

Squeeze of fresh lemon

Combine ingredients in a tall glass, gently mix and garnish with a lemon twist

Caramel Appletini:

2oz Caramel flavored vodka (Pearl)

1oz Apple Pucker
Splash of butterscotch liqueur

Combine All ingredients in a martini shaker, shake vigorously.
Pour into a caramel lined martini glass and garnish with a fresh sliced apple.

So for this wonderful New Year’s Day, you have a variety of cocktails that you can choose from. You can add in more expresso to the martini to make it more of a coffee drink. You can add in hot apple cider if you want to make the Caramel Appletini a bit less alcoholic and a warm drink. There’s a lot you can do with these drinks and they suit a variety of foods too.
