This is the last post and the last day about my experience doing the Paleta Cleanse. Actually it’s been an education in how to eat– and how to stop the incessant cravings for chocolate, cheetos and coffee. Not that I eat them all the time but it’s like going to the movies, once you get a whiff of the popcorn, it’s all over for me– I have to have the popcorn.
So what I have learned is that eating a variety of very colorful veggies makes a huge difference. Also reducing the amount of tea and coffee (and given that I have a Keurig machine that was big deal to give up for those days– but I switched to herbal tea. Not exactly the same but it’s warm and soothing and not so hyper-caffeinated.

Paleta Peanut Butter Energy Cluster (think peanut butter chunky with some nuts and dried fruit. YUM)
The weekend will be a s l o w integration of regular food back into my eating plan but without a lot of the junk I was eating. I don’t need to have chocolate every day. I don’t have to drink 5 cups of coffee. I can eat a range of veggies and I like raw cucumbers and some hummus. Still have the tin from Trader Joe’s! It’s taught me how to choose better and wiser foods. Air-popped popcorn is an infinitely better snack than other things I was eating and a few almonds or almond butter would be great on a piece of rice bread.
