Ever wonder why when you leave a social community you feel drained, tired and wonder why you can’t get anything done? Whether it’s a forum, site, group page on any social media platform, there’s time involved in getting through the page. To be honest, getting through all the groups, messages and other stuff I engage on Facebook for me could take me more than an hour and sometimes (particularly now with the elections) even Twitter can make it hard because of what’s being said.
Social media shouldn’t be hard work, negative and leave you feeling you wish you hadn’t been there. Given the times we are living in, we need to be focused on the positve and celebrate our accomplishments.
Recently someone talked to me about a site — a community/app – -that actually will do the opposite. It’s fast, easy to use and pretty automated except for comments — and those are optional. The community is LifeKraze
· A study soon to be published in Psychological Science says that people with low self-esteem who post negative details about their lives on Facebook actually make themselves less likeable
.· The Social Good Summit bringing together influential minds and passionate activists with one shared goal: to unlock the potential of new media and technology to make the world a better place.
What if instead, social networking could be used to share personal success and accomplishments with a community who would offer motivation and inspiration through this notion of social good?
LifeKraze is a truly unique community that while a social platform feels like a group of people sharing life updates with friends . This community aims to change the way people live offline, by changing the way people live online– by integrating the two!
Check out LifeKraze and you will see an online community that fosters and rewards you for living healthy, active lifestyles. Started by a small team of recent college grad entrepreneurs, LifeKraze deviates from the negative norms associated with social media. This company is even more distinctive because it is a social platform with a currency that can be redeemed for partner discounts from The North Face, prAna, and Men’s Health or converted into charitable donations through such partners as DonorsChoose.org.
Wait.. before you go stomping off to visit the site, you should know who’s behind this social media platform/community. Co-founders Michael Brooks Jr., Ben Wagner and David Nielson have brought on Jay Kelley as president, and Jonathan Yagel, Director of Communications. This is a growing platform and has a slew of Olympic athletes involved in the community as well as everyday people like you and me. After talking with Jay and Jonathan and a brief meeting with Ben (who was on a radio interview outside), the ability to leverage the use of this site stretches FAR BEYOND being athletic. It’s about accomplishments from writing a paper; passing an exam; actually cooking a meal if you don’t cook; cleaning up or cleaning out aspects of your home or even planning and doing your holiday shopping early! (think about that!) This site can give you rewards for things that are on your to-do list- which for me included making a series of appointments with people that have been on my to-do list for a while. What I like about the site is rather than guilt you into something, it inspires and encourages you to make your list, tick off things that you have done and segment out things out of larger projects so that you can get your life, work and mind organized. Relieve stress- go with Life Kraze.
