Working Out the Best Holiday Gifts: Giving Fitness Gear a Lift!

If there’s someone you want to encourage in their quest for fitness, there are many things they may need. Fitness gear makes a great holiday gift, if you’re sure that the recipient won’t be offended. Use your best judgement and knowledge of the person before you purchase a gift of fitness gear!

Whether you know someone who is heavily into fitness, working out and/or sports or
maybe it’s your spouse or significant other, you’ve probably heard several things they would like to have over the course of the year. So many people make New Years resolutions to lose weight or get fit, your gift could be the thing they need to get motivated.

Apparel

Sure you can work out in a pair of sweats or shorts and a t-shirt, but there’s just something about changing into specific workout clothes that puts a person in fitness mode. Plus, form fitting workout clothing is good for the ego because no one likes to see themselves in loose baggy sweats that make them look larger and lumpier!  Yoga pants, compression shorts and even sexy sports bra tops can make a huge difference.

Shoes

There are a variety of fitness shoes for men and women, when you aren’t sure what sort of sport or exercise the person will be doing, it can be difficult to choose the right shoe. Many people prefer to try on their shoes and make sure they are getting a good fitting workout shoe before purchasing. If you want to provide some motivation in the form of shoes, consider a gift certificate or gift card to a local sports store which sells shoes.

Equipment

You could totally break the bank on fitness equipment– if you let yourself. Everything from hand weights to resistance bands, medicine balls, yoga mats and even small things like a pedometer or yoga DVD all make great holiday gifts.

Books

There are many diet and fitness books that would make great gifts for someone who is looking to get in shape or even begin a specific sport. Shop online or visit your local bookstore for personalized shopping and a great variety.

A bit of encouragement can go a long way when someone is seeking motivation to get in shape. Show your support by giving fitness gear as a holiday gift, and heck– feel free to join the workout when the New Year comes around!

  1. I am not positive where you are getting your information, however good topic. I needs to spend a while studying more or understanding more. Thanks for wonderful information I was in search of this information for my mission.

  2. The person writing the article went to the web to find the information– and I READ the entire thing because I have been covering/reviewing fitness for over 10 years. You don’t make your point clear about why you aren’t positive about the information. But maybe you should do more research.
