Almay Brings Color & Treatment in to the Line for Women of All Ages & Ethnicities. #Review! #Sponsored

I used to be just a department store beauty girl– until the times and brands changed– realizing that they had to compete online and they needed to take things up a notch or two. I have a very select group of products from a range of brands that I use and one of the lines I like to test drive products from is Almay. While initially Almay came out (eons ago) as a very clean makeup and that was their branding as clean, hypoallergenic, it got old fast. No longer so with Kate Hudson as their face for the line. Plus the brand has launched several new products that I have tried and found pretty affordable and interesting colors and presentations.

KIATE HUDSOPN

The cool thing about this line is that it’s suitable for all age groups. The product diversity, the textures and the array of shades will work for virtually all skintones (of course some products better than others
Here are three or four products I have tried from this line and would like to review

Don’t forget to enter the contest on Facebook.com/Almay. You just need a photo of you and your mom or your child and you together and what you learned from mom or what you taught someone else to use in the beauty category. You both could wind up heading to NYC to be glammed up and hit the town running. Who wouldn’t want to do that? So get your “party” look on and snap a couple photos and upload them to the site

I saw the review on Almay’s new CC Cream on I Am THE Makeup Junkie’s blog and Marie set me on fire! I had to try this.

Almay-Smart-Shade-CC-Cream-Complexion-Corrector

I hedged my bets and bought the CC SPF 35 Cream and I also bought theanti aging

Between the two I liked the CC Cream better than the other “Smart Shade” self-adjusting cream “not-quite” foundation. The bonus of a bit more coverage and lot more SPF sold me.

eye primer

I tried the Eye Primer for Green Eyes which was a shimmery nude color. It was a great base to apply any golden, copper, bronze or even burgundy shadow and have it last all day!

The trick on why I like these so much is that the CC cream I was looking at was about $40+ dollars and up to about $70!! I didn’t need to spend that much money for a single product when I could buy 3 products for about half that amount. The eye primer in another line was at least $18!! I didn’t spend that kind of money to get the same effect but I got tons of value for what I did spend.

I am a beauty junkie but I also love to save money too. Bargain-shopper is built into my DNA. Almay gives me quality and at a very affordable price!

Disclosure : I am part of the campaign for the Almay Mom & You /Kate Hudson & Goldie Hawn Sweepstakes. While I am being paid for the series of posts, my content and reviews are my own opinion and are no way affected by my participation in any campaign. I have full disclosure about products (none received for this campaign) and advertorial campaigns (of which this happens to be one) on www.la-story.com

  1. that’s why I bought it. The CC Cream is such a great product and a great price that I couldn’t believe others are charging 3-5 x that price for almost the same amount

  2. How does the shade adjusting work? Did you notice? I use a sunscreen foundation from Almay now. The CC does look good..you found it matched your skin well?
