For most of us, Labor Day weekend and any other time you are throwing parties are high stress and hellish…unless you’re Ina Garten. Any good host knows that to keep party spirits high, it’s important to keep the spirits flowing!
This year, keep finger foods light and simple and instead wow guests with a homemade craft cocktail. Amoretti, the world’s premiere purveyor of healthy gourmet ingredients and drink mixes, has shaken up the usual eggnog offering and created a light, guilt-free alternative: the Eggnog Bikini.
Or, if you want to warm up your guests from the inside out, try Amoretti’s take on an adult Mexican hot chocolate: the Mole Cocktail is the perfectly sweet, spicy, and decadent ending to an evening among friends and family.
This is my take on the end of summer– you can use these cocktails and tweak the recipes many different ways and you may see them return in different iterations!
Eggnog Bikini (210 calories)
2 oz. Bourbon whiskey (Jack Daniels Honey is a nice thought)
2 Pumps Amoretti Premium Eggnog Syrup
** Suggest some nutmeg or a spicy blend of cinnamon and apple pie spice for a bit more zip
Splash of sparkling water
Cinnamon stick (or powder)
Combine whiskey and eggnog syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice.
Shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass and top with a splash of sparkling water. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.
The Mole Cocktail (259 calories)
3 oz. Tequila (either Alacran Tequila OR try FOGS END MOONSHINE)
1.5 Pumps Amoretti Premium Crema di Dark Chocolate Syrup
(want to get REALLY interesting? Try any chocolate sauce
from Robert Lambert Artisan Foods)
Small pinch of chipotle powder (which will be delish with the fine chocolate sauce)
Combine everything in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Strain over fresh ice.
Yummy fun lighter-weight cocktails that still give a kick!

Jess.- next time you have Eggnog, try it with a golden tequila!! AMAZING… and use nutmeg if you want and maybe a bit of peppermint schnapps.
Fiona: isn’t that a great cocktail? I love the idea of it– presentation makes it even more inviting!
Pam: you can go find something close to it in Pittsburgh.. Just tell them what’s in it.
These cocktails sound delicious! I love eggnog and these would work really well for Christmas too.
