I Am THE Makeup Junkie’s Marie P Trendspots Spring 2014: Rosy Nudes Make a Feminine Statement!

Pantone isn’t always the be-all and end-all of color. They predict trends, but that doesn’t mean that it works for many of us. While I know that Radiant Orchid is an interesting color, I see its’ use will be limited in clothing and exceptionally useful. Instead, I took a spin from Zoya’s collection of cool nudes from a cool cocoa to silky beige.

So it wasn’t a real surprise when Marie P of I Am THE Makeup Junkie pinged me on a trend-spotting piece for early spring 2014!

This spring one of the hottest and prettiest colors on trend for spring is a “rosy-nude”. This shade is not limited to just one depth of color but is all over the gradient. Nudes are seen everywhere in the spring color forecast but a nude shade added with rose to it makes it more feminine, pretty and something that ANY woman can wear. A rosy-nude is less likely to wash out facial features. Already many companies have come out with items that feature this shade.

urban decay naked 3 eye shadow palette[4]

Way ahead of the pack was Urban Decay’s Naked 3 Eye Shadow Palette. This palette is chock full of gorgeous nude shades all set with a rose tone.

maybelline color sensational the Buffs-Bare-all[4]

Maybelline Color Sensational The Buffs has to be my favorite lipstick set ever! I am in love with the lightest shade, Bare All (a pink nude that is perfect for my skin tone). Seriously, these are freaking gorgeous! Maybelline color sensational the Buffs-Bare-all It is great for anyone, as it helps bring out the various shades in one’s eyes. As an example, the rosy pinks bring out the green in my eyes. This collection has 10 lipsticks from the lightest pinky-nude to the darkest espresso brown (dark coffee brown with a hint of pink). It is selling out fast, so if you see it, buy something. The Color Sensational lipsticks are awesome.

chocolate bar eye shadow collection[4]

Too Faced Cosmetics Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Collection is another eye shadow palette that is full of rosy nude shades. It has more than just the UD palette though, so it might be worth a look for those who are interested in some extras. These shades are all on the warm side. Laura Mercier also has a rosy nude look going on. Her Spring Renaissance Collection is full of light pinks, nudes and browns that all speak to a new beginning and a new you.

mac

MAC Cosmetics always comes out with a “nude” color collection after the holidays. This year their collection was all “rose” based and “rose-bronze” based. I know I said no more MAC, but I could not resist this one! Their collection, called Magnetic Nude, doesn’t disappoint at all. I love the perfect blend of rose and brown. Together I feel soft, pretty and oh so feminine.

I have heard that the next collection from Bobbi Brown is also going to be a nude collection, surprise, surprise! Rose and nude is all over the cosmetics world this spring. Pantone may have deemed Radiant Orchid the Color of the Year, but everyone is wearing nude this spring as a way to amp up the femininity in their looks.

  1. The subtle colors like these do look elegant and less fussy. I have always used these colors, so I am back in style!
