KOGI Truck Roy Choi Gets Savory with #Oreos! Top LA Chefs Mix Up Snack Hacks with #OREO Cookies.

Do you love eating out? Do you like to try the latest in food trends? I am sure you know these chefs behind these restaurants: Michael Voltaggio (INK Restaurant), Roy Choi (Kogi Food Truck) and Nguyen Tran running circles as an underground phenom behind Starry Kitchen! These three chefs are part ofa web series of videos built around how to incorporate a secret ingredient into a “Snack Hack”. Each chef creates his own version of a snack hack in their signature style by deconstructing an Oreo into something “brand new”.

Roy Choi gets REALLY creative with Golden “birthday cake” Oreos too-taking it to the SAVORY side of things!

Food Truck legend Roy Choi’s Midnight Hack combines his Midas touch with golden Oreo cookies to whip up some late night chicken tenders.

This hack is CRAZY GREAT !If you want to add a bit more zip and fun to it, use more chicken (or fish); add a bit more spice; and use 4 Chocolate Oreos for 16 Golden Oreos and get a salt & pepper effect.

Oreo Midnight Hack
2 Boneless, skinless chicken breasts (1⁄4 inch thickness; about 1.5 lb.)
1 Cup (15 cookies) Golden Oreo cookies, wafers only
1 Cup all-purpose flour
2 Eggs, lightly beaten, with 1 tbsp of water added
1 Cup panko breadcrumbs
1 Cup chopped Italian flat-leaf parsley
Kosher salt, fresh ground pepper
Vegetable oil for frying (about 2 Cups)

1. Pulse cookies (wafer only) until fine
2. Mix cookie crumbs, panko and parsley in plastic bag. Season with salt and pepper
3. Coat chicken cutlets in flour and dip in beaten eggs
4. Add cutlets to cookie/breadcrumb mix and coat well
5. Heat oil in frying pan and fry breaded cutlets until cooked through (about 4 minutes per side).

Showing them ALL in one post is way too easy. All 3 of the posts are now live! Go back a day or 3 for the posts — each featuring a different chef’s “snack hack!

What’s YOUR “Snack Hack”?

If you get lucky, I might share my own snack hack!
