Wondering what to do this weekend? Should you go the DVD/streaming circuit? What about the movies? What’s on TV?
Here’s a relatively quick list to check out!
If you haven’t heard, Disney has redone Sleeping Beauty with live actors and it’s enough to scare the Skittles out of small children.
Trailer #3
So see this with older children who aren’t easily scared of the dark or of pretty creatures who appear nice and turn out to be very evil. This telling of the story is not even close to the original Disney animated film.
Flying through the clouds..
But then, what good would it be if it were? Reviews overall are pretty stellar. I will see it and let you know!
Dream Trailer. (Once Upon a Dream theme)
If you don’t want to brave the crowds for this Disney flick, turn to Marvel and XMen Days of Future Past. This is not just “another sequel”. This is one that’s well thought out and takes
Who Are We?
This movie makes cohesive sense an stitches up the holes left from previous movies and creates resolution in a way that creates balance and leaves opportunity for future movies!
You Abandoned Me!
I saw it and was very impressed. I didn’t see 3-D and I saw it early AM when the tickets were $7 for a showing before noon. Worth the time and the $$. It was a lot better than more forgettable movie I had seen a couple weeks earlier — which I have to hunt down what I saw.
DVDS and Streaming:
What to see:
Game of Thrones
If you have missed any season of this- other than Season 4 (the new one), watch it now! You can catch up to almost everything!
House of Cards
This made for TV series is made for binge-watching (something I was doing 5 years ago)
Man of Steel
Give Henry Cavill’s acting skills a chance to be really seen in this movie. It’s worth watching if to see the evolution of a character.
This is a new kind of Superman!
Hockey and/or Basketball Playoffs!
24: Live Another Day
This is an AMAZING series. It picks up where it left off but with key players more damaged and at odds with each other. REALLY worth catching up to this!
What Not to See:
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty with Ben Stiller.
Too bad it was so poorly edited. It’s long, drawn-out and slow. It needs more editing to speed it up. Ben Stiller seems to play very similar characters.
Runner Runner
Ben Affleck is great. Justin Timberlake needs to work on his acting. This isn’t his forte.
47 Ronin
Requires patience to watch it. If you love martial arts films, you will love this. If you liked Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, you will love this
Head outside if it’s sunny if you run out of things to do!

I can not wait to see Maleficent! (A huge Sleeping Beauty fan right here!) Also excited for season 2 of Orange is the New Black to come out this week, do you like that one?
I like Orange Is The New Black too as well as House of Cards and others from Netflix. I am a big fan of USA Network too as well as Starz and others.
