#BTProject Supports National #Bullying Prevention Month: How About You? #Videos #Music

It is National Bullying Prevention Month and I am asking YOU to step up and get involved in this initiative! Bullying and the damage it causes to kids and families is gaining in awareness. Courtesy of various campaigns, the awareness of the issue, the damage that can occur in and out of school, at home and even in workplaces. Bullying has arises out of various causes and expressions of rage and inadequacy. Often it’s perpetrated and “handed down” from generation to generation if not dealt with by the victim of the bully who can be another student– either younger or older- or others in the victim’s life (including family members). It’s a form of abuse that is often hidden by the victim because they feel no one would 1) help them or 2) believe them. The goal of the bully is to abuse the victim to make the bully feel more powerful in their sphere of influence.

This topic has been covered on this blog before and people behind the #BTProject have been as well:Clinton Sparks,The Mowglis and Kylie Morgan return with more inspiring efforts and awareness-raising videos.

“I’m Good,” a powerful, user-generated anthem created for the Band Together to Banish Bullying (#BTProject) project that I personally would love for you to share with any child that might be a victim of bullying along with any group that focuses on positive aspects of children!

“I’m Good” is an unique, upbeat song that can be sung along and which was directly inspired by teens who shared their own experiences with bullying and messages of hope via the #BTProject on Youtube. In collaboration with PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center, “I’m Good” was produced and co-written by Grammy-nominated music producer Clinton Sparks, along with popular alternative band The Mowgli’s (“San Francisco”) and country singer Kylie Morgan (“Phoebe” (It Matters What We Do)).

Here’s also a behind the scenes video of making this new song.

#BTProject provided teens with a new platform to speak out against bullying and share their personal stories. Hundreds of teens submitted heart-rending stories, pictures, videos and poems that Sparks, The Mowgli’s and Morgan used to inspire the melody and lyrics for “I’m Good,” which was fittingly recorded in the same legendary studio as the moving 1985 single, “We Are the World.”

The song is available for download free-of-charge on #BTProject YouTube channel
