This holiday season, SideChef, the step-by-step cooking app, has you covered with a slew of cocktails and some great boozy brunch features. Sounds interesting, Yes?! I think so and that’s why I am featuring it! This app is available from Google Play and the iPhone App Store.
SideChef features the following recipes from popular bloggers and chef which have made them popular among the cooking set and the SideChef app a hit and among the iTunes’ Top 10 apps in the Food & Beverage category and Consumer Report’s 6 Fun & Useful Apps for the Holidays.
The great part about this app is that
1) You explore the recipes till you find one that suits your needs.
2) There are TONS of photos for step by step recipe prep
3) Voice command can be used when your hands are unavailable
4) Timer is also available to enable “smart-cooking”
5) Cooking new recipes is super-easy, super-fun because of the above and it makes for smart, faster, easier cooking — all without a cooking lesson!
Origins of SideChef
Sidechef was founded and nurtured by Kevin Yu, CEO of SideChef. A serial tech entrepreneur, Kevin began his career at Blizzard Entertainment as the Global Manager of Community Development, where he successfully reimagined the intersection of social and gaming, just as social was emerging on the digital scene. Kevin left Blizzard to co-found Superplay games, where he led product development and strategy, and again managed an international, innovative team.
With over eight years of experience in the gaming industry, Kevin has a deep understanding of how to design fun and engaging experiences. Now he is bringing that experience to cooking with SideChef, combining cutting-edge technology and user-generated content to bring cooking into the 21st century. Kevin turns his creative visions into successful companies and gave two TEDx Talks in early 2014, titled “Leading by design” and “How to come up with your next big idea.”
Here’s a list of some great recipes and then a collection of cocktails from some of the bloggers and brands participating in SideChef!

Hot Boozy Coffee
Prep time: 10 mins Total time: 10 mins
Serves: 1
Ingredients
½ shot brandy
½ shot grand marnier
½ shot kahlua
4-5 oz. coffee, hot
1 orange peel
½ cup whipped cream
½ tsp sugar
Instructions
Put the whipped cream in either a bowl and whip with a whisk (electric or otherwise) or you can put it in the blender.
Whip until soft peaks and then add sugar to taste.
Take your orange peel and lightly “burn” with a lighter.
This will help the oils come out and will flavor the coffee later.
Pour the brandy, grand marnier, kaluha, and freshly brewed coffee in a mug. Stir with the orange peel.
Spoon some whipped cream on top and enjoy right away!

This is Korean remedy for cold. The dried jujubes are one of the most incredible thing to fight with cold. It contains 20 times the amount of vitamin C as citrus fruits. The vitamin and mineral content of the fruit helps to soothe the stomach, ease sore throats, suppress the appetite, support cardiovascular health, enhance metabolism and cleanse the blood vessels.
