A true journey in terms of a life path as well as something fabulous for the entire family to watch. YES it’s true an enjoyable film that is great for adults and kids and worth watching for glorious food and the evolution of several key characters!
Antonin-Noble-Val in the south of France. Filled with charm, it is both picturesque and elegant – the ideal place to settle down and open an Indian restaurant, the Maison Mumbai. That is, until the chilly chef proprietress of Le Saule Pleureur, a Michelin starred, classical French restaurant run by Madame Mallory (Helen Mirren), gets wind of it. Her icy protests against the new Indian restaurant a hundred feet from her own escalate to all out war between the two establishments until Hassan’s passion for French haute cuisine and for Mme. Mallory’s enchanting sous chef, Marguerite (Charlotte Le Bon),
Saw this movie and I loved it. The cinematography is gorgeous. The food is astonishing. Yes Helen Mirren tends to phone it in but she’s so darn great and the rest of the cast is stellar! A great coming of age movie!
The blu-ray version has lots of extras and you won’t be sorry investing in this movie. There is great cinematography and the food, and the French market scenes are photographed beautifully. Makes you want to be a chef!

This movie is suitable for older kids. There is a lot of action,language that might not be suitable for young ones. It is sci-fi and people do die, get maimed even blown up.
But if your kid is down for that, he’s going to love the ride! I saw this in a theater and walked out full of the adrenaline-fueled rush! You don’t have to know the comic books to get something out of this flick!

The cast is pretty stellar. Chris Pratt may have his break-out hit here and he looks in good enough shape to pull this off!

This is a sure family time movie and perfect for even the small fry! Great fun for everyone except someone wanting more adult themes.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
While most didn’t catch this flick while in the theaters, there is a ton of Oscar buzz for this movie particularly for “Caesar” actor Andy Serkis! His role as the ape that leads the charge is phenomenal!
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

Magic in the Moonlight is a romantic comedy about an Englishman brought in to help unmask a possible swindle. Personal and professional complications ensue. Set in the 1920s on the opulent Riviera in the south of France, Woody Allen’s MAGIC IN THE MOONLIGHT is a romantic comedy about a master magician (Colin Firth) trying to expose a psychic medium (Emma Stone) as a fake. What follows is a series of events that are magical in every sense of the word and send the characters reeling. In the end, the biggest trick MAGIC IN THE MOONLIGHT plays is the one that fools us all.
This Woody Allen film didn’t fare too well in theaters but it might be perfect for Holiday 2014 gifting. It’s a cute movie that’s ideal for families or something to watch on long flights across the country whether by plane or car!

Given that there are a ton of flicks coming for holiday 2014.. and seeking to get Oscar and Golden Globe attention, this is the time to be hitting theaters! If you aren’t picky on your films and willing to go back to August-October releases, there are some excellent films to be seen on DVD and Blu-ray! Also you can find great TV shows to watch as they feature season compilations so you can binge watch your favorite shows. (Sons of Anarchy anyone?)

I’ve read the 100 foot journey, but I haven’t seen the film. Sounds like perfect Christmas viewing!
I always love Helen Mirrin and do want to see the 100 ft Journey…the food looks incredible.
I saw it on the big screen and was so glad I did. The colors, the photography, the music.. very lush. The food was amazing.
It made me hungry.
Definitely worth seeing!
