New Years Day Bowl Games Deserve Great Choices!! 8th Annual “12 Drinks of Christmas”, Day 10!

What do you want to drink for New Years Day? For a day full of R&R and bowl games, I want options– lots of options! Alie Ward and Georgia Hardstark have GREAT cocktails and this is the place to find their interesting takes and tweaks to cocktails! This is California… and Alie and Georgia both live here and so do I! While it’s been horrendously cold here (ok.. so it’s CALIFORNIA type cold weather), we are going to pretend it’s warm-ish here and then the cocktails I give you can and will be warm and/or cold!

Alie & Georgia’s Golden Ratio Cocktail

Makes 1 cocktail

Ingredients:

2 oz preferred spirit (whiskey, vodka, tequila, gin) (suggestion: try whiskey or smooth tequila)

¾ oz fresh squeezed citrus juice (lemon or lime)

2 dashes bitters (Angostura, Peychaud’s or any flavor you like)

4 oz your favorite fruit flavored soda (we love all of IZZE’s line)

Garnish with a citrus peel or herb of your choice

Method:
1. Combine first three ingredients in a cocktail shaker over ice and shake vigorously.
2. Pour into a Collins glass filled with ice and top with fruit flavored soda.
3. Garnish with a citrus peel or a sprig of fresh herb.
Prepare to make drinks for all of your friends at every party for the rest of your life

Izze Vanilla Clementini

1½ OZ.vanilla vodka (now is the time to NOT go to your usual brand but try something new… like Pinnacle Spirits in a slew of great flavors)

½ OZ. Triple Sec or Cointreau

3 OZ. IZZE SPARKLING CLEMENTINE

2 CUPS Finely crushed or shaved ice

2 TBS. Sweetened Condensed Milk!

Method:
In a glass, combine vodka, triple sec, and IZZE Sparkling Clementine, and stir lightly. Pour over shaved ice and top with a drizzle of sweetened condensed milk. Serve with a spoon and be prepared to make seconds.

For a twist on this either add a bit of Tangine spice to the recipe or a bit of nutmeg on top of the condensed milk!

Yield: one serving

Alie and Georgia’s Grapefruit Lavenderita

1½ TSP. Dried Lavender

2 OZ. Tequila (try a brand that has a smooth reposado. Hornitos is a good choice)

½ OZ. Bittersweet citrus aperatif (examples: Lillet Blanc, Amaro or Compari)

¾ OZ. Fresh squeezed lime juice

6 OZ. IZZE SPARKLING GRAPEFRUIT

Method:
Infuse tequila with lavender. Combine tequila and remaining ingredients with ice, and stir. Garnish with fresh lavender blossom, and tell someone you got them flowers.

To infuse tequila, add one tablespoon dried lavender flowers to 8 oz. of tequila and let sit for one hour. Strain and store tequila in a sealed jar or bottle.

Yield: One serving

Izze Grapehound

5 OZ. IZZE SPARKLING GRAPEFRUIT

2 OZ. Citron Vodka or some brand that has a very sharp citrus flavor (like Pinnacle!)
GARNISH: LIME WEDGE

Method:
Pour vodka into a highball glass over ice cubes and fill with IZZE Sparkling Grapefruit. Stir and garnish with a lime wedge.
