Oscars 2015 Anna Kendrick Glows! Celeb Makeup Artist Vanessa Scali Shares the #BeautyBreakdown

The Oscars are going on right now as I type this. There is so much on the red carpet that I spent almost 2 hours curating photos.
Thankfully while there are winners (and losers) for the Oscars, there are as many for red carpet kudos. One happens to be Anna Kendrick who has a gorgeous glow and a great gown for the 2015 Oscars. Celebrity Makeup Artist Vanessa Scali gives us Anna’s beauty breakdown!!

“Anna’s Thakoon Oscar gown is a breath of fresh air. The soft coral is amazing against her alabaster skin. With that in mind, I wanted to create a look that had presence but wasn’t overpowering and wouldn’t compete with the dress. The focus is definitely on the sultry eye, but paired with nude, juicy skin, and a matte bitten lip, she looks fresh and effortless.“

SKIN PREP:

I prepped her skin with the Flawless Future Powered by Ceramide™ collection. The brighteners and penetrating moisture really wakes up winter skin and creates a perfect canvas for the foundation.

COMPLEXION:

This year, Anna is not only attending the Oscars she is performing and presenting during the show. So after prepping her skin, I applied a light application of Flawless Finish Perfectly Satin 24HR Makeup to even out her skin tone and give her a long-lasting, soft, luminous glow.

Flawless Finish Correcting and Highlighting Perfector under the eyes, on the inner hollow (on the nose) just beside the inner corner of the eyes, and for a bit of light, on the cheekbones, and the bridge of the nose.

I dusted her t-zone only with Ceramide Skin Smoothing Loose Powder.

For a hint of just-pinched color, I used Ceramide Cream Blush in Pink on the apples of the cheeks.

Beautiful Color Eye Shadow in Smolder from the lash line to the crease, and under the lower lashes as well. I blended it into the skin so well so that the edge would be soft. Beautiful Color Eye Shadow in Glisten on the brow bone and a touch in the center of the eyelid.

To complete the look for the eyes, I used Beautiful Color Precision Glide Eyeliner in Black Violet on the top lash line, and on the outer corners of the lower lashes as well as the water line. Followed by Sunkissed Pearls Gel Eye Liner in Deep Sea Pearl smudged into the lash line. This makes saturates the black at the base of the lashes. It isn’t a hard line­­–just rich and dark.

A few generous coats of Beautiful Color Lash-Enhancing Mascara in Black on the top lashes, with one, soft coat on the bottom.

For a soft, full brow I used Beautiful Color Natural Eye Brow Pencil in Natural Beige.

Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipstick Matte in Pink Pucker on the lips finishes the look and adds a delicate, textural contrast to her dewy skin.
