We are getting down to the wire for Labor Day Weekend. Weird that this is a late Labor Day since it’s September 7 this year which is very late! In light of trying to help you do a bit of planning for the big holiday weekend coming up, I am going to be sharing posts about cocktail and food recipes along with other “usual” content.
It’s time to start planning your BBQs and parties now so that you can get the timing down, shopping done and be ready for your besties to show up for one heck of a holiday weekend! Courtesy of Patron Tequila, I have a slew of recipes for some super tasty cocktails!!
Watermelon Man
By Rob Montero, Broken Shaker/Blackbird Ordinary (Miami)
Ingredients:
1 ¾ oz Roca Patrón Silver
1 oz Watermelon Juice
¾ oz Lime Juice
¾ oz Fresh Mint Syrup
2 Dashes Bitterman’s Tiki Bitters
1 Dash Angostura Bitters
Method:
Combine ingredients in a shaker. Shake and strain into a crushed ice-filled Collins glass. Garnish with a mint sprig, lime wheel and watermelon slice.
Ingredients:
Cucumber-Coconut Margarita
Ingredients:
1.5 oz Patrón Silver
2 oz Coconut water
.5 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
.5 oz simple syrup
1” piece English cucumber, diced
4 thin slices of cucumber, for garnish
Instructions:
In the bottom of a mixing glass, muddle cucumber and simple syrup.
Add Patrón Silver, coconut water and lime juice. Shake vigorously with ice to chill.
Strain onto fresh ice in a highball glass and garnish with a cucumber fan. Serve with a straw.
The “Roca como Flor”
By Jaren Rivas, Fink Table & Tap (Miami)
Ingredients:
2 oz Roca Patrón Silver
1 oz Fresh Pink Grapefruit Juice
1 oz Hibiscus & Tea Syrup
Soda Water
Instructions:
Shake and strain into a Collins glass and serve with crushed ice.
Top with a splash of soda and garnish with a quarter wheel of grapefruit and dried hibiscus flower.
Pepper Patch
1.5 oz Roca Patrón Reposado
.75 oz Fresh squeezed lime juice
.75 oz Liber & Co Ginger syrup
.75 oz Fresh red bell pepper juice
1 oz Sparkling water
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients except for the sparkling water in the bottom of a mixing tin
Shake vigorously with ice to chill. Strain onto fresh ice in a Collins glass and top with sparkling water.
Stir to combine, and garnish with a slice of red bell pepper.
