I am a huge fan of rescue organizations and adopting a pet in need of a home rather than buying from a puppy mill or a breeder. Rescues are animals who have been turned in to animal shelters or rescue organizations because the original owners cannot care for them or have abandoned the animals. It’s a national crisis in the US that people who want pets don’t realize that they can get a loving pet of their own for a fraction of the cost and help give that pet a home full of love, care and attention.
I did it when my last pet died. We adopted a dog that had been in a rescue shelter twice. She was in need. Little did we know when we adopted her that we thought we were helping her.
