If you are having a group of friends join you for Halloween (tonight, tomorrow, Sunday) or perhaps a Halloween-themed game day get-together, these recipes are sure to please almost any palette in the group.
Garibaldi
(or for a fun Halloween twist, the Headless Horseman, available at Dante, NYC)
Ingredients:
1.5 oz. Campari
Juice of 1 orange
Method:
Pour over ice and stir. Garnish with an orange wedge.
Aperol Spritz
Ingredients:
3 Parts Cinzano Prosecco
2 Parts Aperol
1 Splash of Soda
Method:
Serve over ice in a wine glass. Add a slice of orange, pour in the Prosecco, the Aperol and a splash of soda.
Naren’s Negroni Riff: (Or the Chocolate Spice, available at Dante, NYC)
Ingredients:
3/4 oz. Campari
3/4 oz. Cinzano Rosso
1/4 oz. Gin
1/4 oz. White Crème de Cacao
3 Dashes Chocolate Bitters
3 Dashes Chili Powder
Valrhona Chocolate Shavings
Method:
Stir and strain on one large cube in an etched rocks glass.
Garnish with an orange twist and grated Valrhona chocolate.
Cynar “Green Goblin” Julep:
Ingredients:
2 oz. Cynar
1/2 oz. Simple Syrup
1/2 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
1/2 oz. Fresh Grapefruit Juice
2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
2 oz. Soda Water
12 Mint Leaves
Method:
In a tall glass, add mint and all ingredients except soda water and bitters.
Gently muddle, add ice, then soda and top with bitters.

Ingredients:
1 ½ oz Jägermeister
1 dash Angostura bitters
½ oz Cana Brava rum
½ oz Don’s Spices #4
½ oz Don’s Spices #2
½ oz fresh lime juice
½ oz fresh orange juice
Method:
Shake with 3 ice cubes & strain into a highball glass over crushed ice & place in a double old fashioned glass with dry ice. Garnish with a long orange twist and add hot water to the dry ice.
Black and Orange

Ingredients:
1.5 oz. Cutty Sark Prohibition Edition
.5 oz. Amaro Meletti
.5 oz. Yellow Chartreuse
.5 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
1.5 oz. Fresh Pressed Carrot Juice
Fresh ground Black Pepper for garnish
Method:
Shake all together with ice and strain into a Collins glass filled with ice.
Grind the black pepper on top to garnish.
These recipes feature a great range of spirits so you might find that you have at least a couple of parts to any one cocktail recipe. The diversity gives you a range of sweet, savory and sour! Worth trying at least a couple!
