Hallelujah It’s Raining in LA ! Let’s “Celebrate” El Nino’s Rain with Deep Eddy Cocktails! #LAStory
El Nino has finally arrived and since Los Angeles (all of California is in severe drought conditions!) is in so much need of H20, it’s only fitting and appropriate that we raise a glass and offer a toast to this storm. Deep Eddy Vodka, maker of natural and handmade spirits, has created the below rain-worthy cocktails that are perfect to sip indoors while you wait out the storm.
… Ok so the storm lasted pretty much all day. While the storm has moved on for a bit, it’s going to come roaring back in to So. California tomorrow AM. While I love the Deep Eddy cocktails listed, I would recommend that if you are stuck in a rain storm and can’t drive home, that you duck into a friendly establishment and toast the water that is a gift from the skies. Also make sure you call Uber, Lyft, a taxi or a friend to drive you home. You know how other drivers are in the rain. Now is not the time to get into an accident or cited for a DUI.
Eden Hot Toddy

1 organic cinnamon stick
Texas lemon wedge
Mix first three ingredients in a mug and garnish with cinnamon stick and lemon wedge.
¼ oz. agave nectar or simple syrup
6 blueberries (muddle)
1 basil leaf (muddle)
¼ oz. fresh lemon juice
2 oz. Deep Eddy Vodka
2 oz. Topo Chico
Blueberry and basil leaf garnish
Combine first 4 ingredients, then muddle, shake and strain over new ice.
Top with Topo Chico.
Garnish with blueberry and basil leaf.
1 part Deep Eddy Cranberry Vodka
1 part Pineapple Juice
1 part Club Soda
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Mix all ingredients in a cocktail glass, stir and serve.
If this isn’t an incentive for you to sit down with friends and enjoy the rain, I don’t know what is. However it’s a great incentive for me to stay off the road and have a great time with friends and neighbors!
