Want a greater variety of cocktails to mix up for this celebrity-strewn weekend? (Think OSCARS!!) Here is a terrific array of cocktails that run the gamut from wine to vodka and lots in between. Make a run to your local retailer for spirits and pick up some supplies. ENJOY this weekend’s celebrity highlights while drinking cocktails like they do!
Bridge of Spies – SERPENT’S BITE Whisky Spy Mule
INGREDIENTS
1½ part SERPENT’S BITE
Dash lemon juice
Top, ginger beer
DIRECTIONS
Build in a Collins glass, top with ginger beer, and garnish with mint.
Brooklyn – Kim Crawford’s Spiced Romance
INGREDIENTS
2 oz Kim Crawford Pinot Noir
1 oz aged rum
3/4 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 oz Spiced Honey Syrup, warm (See instructions)
1/2 oz egg white
Freshly grated cinnamon for garnish
SPICED HONEY SYRUP INGREDIENTS
1 cup water
1 cup honey
4 cinnamon sticks
Peel from half of orange
6 cloves
Notice: The consumption of raw or undercooked eggs may increase your risk of food borne illness.
SPICED HONEY SYRUP DIRECTIONS
Add all ingredients to a medium saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until warm and fragrant. (Avoid overcooking, as the syrup should not reduce and thicken.) Remove from heat; strain and discard solids. The syrup can be refrigerated for up to two weeks. However, it should be gently rewarmed to create the cocktail.
DIRECTIONS
Add all ingredients except cinnamon to a cocktail tin and shake until you feel the mixture foaming.
Add ice to the tin and shake hard for 10-15 seconds.
Double-strain into a chilled cocktail glass, sprinkle with cinnamon, and serve.
Mad Max: Fury Road – SVEDKA Vodka’s Fury Fruit Cocktail
INGREDIENTS
2 parts SVEDKA Grapefruit Jalapeño
1 part elderflower liqueur
½ part fresh lemon juice
½ part fresh lime juice
2 strawberry slices
2 orange slices
Pinch of mint
club soda
DIRECTIONS
Lightly muddle fruit and mint in the bottom of a Collins glass.
Fill with ice, and add remaining liquid ingredients and top with club soda.
Garnish with sliced strawberries, sliced oranges, and mint.
The Martian – SVEDKA Vodka’s Man On Mars Cocktail
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 parts SVEDKA Clementine
1 part orange juice
1/2 part fresh lemon juice
1 tsp. orange marmalade
DIRECTIONS
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
Shake and strain into a rocks glass gilled with ice.
Garnish with a large orange peel.
The Revenant – SERPENT’S BITE Whisky’s Bear Crusher
INGREDIENTS
2 parts SERPENT’S BITE
¾ part fresh lemon juice
¾ part Simple syrup
Dry red wine float
DIRECTIONS
Combine ingredients in a mixing glass except for red wine.
Shake and strain over ice into a martini glass.
Carefully layer red wine on top.
Serve in a cocktail glass
Room – Kim Crawford’s Kim In The Room Cocktail
INGREDIENTS
1 oz Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc
1 oz vodka (Try using a Svedka Vodka!)
1 oz fresh juiced watermelon
1 oz simple syrup
1/2 oz lemon
1 1/2 oz soda water
Dash of grapefruit bitters
Grapefruit peel for garnish
DIRECTIONS
Mix first five ingredients in a shaker and pour over ice in a highball glass.
Top with soda water.
Add a dash of grapefruit bitters and garnish with grapefruit peel.
Servings: 12 oz serving
