Are you seeking something new when it comes to fitness? Are you into spinning but want something more?
YOU should check out Flywheel!
Flywheel Sports, an innovative indoor cycling brand that fuses fitness and technology, is expanding into the heart of Los Angeles’ Silicon Beach with Flywheel Playa Vista on August 1, 2016 (That’s today!)
Flywheel Playa Vista will feature 55 bikes in the signature stadium-style seating setup, private bathrooms and showers, as well as complimentary indoor cycling shoes, towels and fruit for all riders. As the brand’s most technologically advanced west coast studio to date, Flywheel Playa Vista features new technology including to the revolutionary Tech Pack, a proprietary performance tracking technology that allows riders to accurately view their resistance (Torq), speed (RPM), and energy exerted (Power). In addition to tracking their own performance, riders can also choose to put their names up on the TorqBoards, large flat screen displays at the front of every studio that show class leaders and allow for friendly competition. After each ride, comprehensive performance data is stored and made available to riders on their “My Performance Page” at flywheelsports.com or through the Flywheel App, facilitating individual goal setting and additional performance tracking.
Flywheel’s Enhanced Tech Experience at Playa Vista includes:
Suggested classes – recommended new classes based on your prior experience – teaching style of instructors, time of day, class type preference, and more; very similar to Amazon’s “you might also like” section although it’s the first time this tool is being applied to the fitness industry in a streamlined way
Auto-book – ability to automatically be booked into classes every week when your reservation window opens
Auto-refill – ability to enable credit purchases to automatically buy new package when running out
Enhanced instructor profiles – including musics preferences, teaching styles, and ability to favorite instructor
Improved filtering capabilities to explore and reserve classes
E-Mailed results following each class, including distance biked, calories burned and “power score” so you can track your personal progress from class-to-class
In-stadium technology has become more personalized and interactive:
Tech Pack – greets riders by first name, countdown for races appears on each individual tech pack along with your original score, even if you are not on the board, and changes color
Enhanced instructor dashboard with rider information including whether someone is new or participating in a Flywheel challenge, so Instructors can understand who each rider is and engage with them on personal level
Special LED lighting managed by the instructor. This RGB lighting, embedded between the acoustical panels of the stadium walls will enhance the overall Flywheel experience. Instructors will be able to manage the color of the lights as well as how and when they are displayed throughout class. Combined with high-energy and carefully crafted playlists, this new light feature will motivate and push riders to new limits.
Flywheel Playa Vista will open to the public on Monday, August 1st, with preview rides taking place July 30th and 31st.
Preview Ride Schedule: OOPS> dates already went by but it’s open today!
