LA is a great place to live. We have great weather, great diversity in the range of the landscape for So. California that that one can get a lot of different vegetables and goods from local vendors, artists and farmers. It’s especially exciting when one hears that DTLA (downtown Los Angeles) is launching anew farmers market– Arts District Farmers’ Market along with Artists and Fleas, a killer flea market!
Here is what Los Angeles River Artists and Business Association (LARABA) says about how its’ projects are geared towards:
The Arts District Farmers Market with Artists + Fleas is proud to serve as a small business incubator for many wonderful farms, nurseries, bakeries, meat and seafood providers, cheesemakers, specialty food producers and of course, local artisans. Each of our vendors is carefully screened with a commitment to creating a diverse marketplace with the highest quality locally produced products available.
Vendors bring their own table and set-up, and 10% of sales goes to the neighborhood Arts District nonprofit, the Los Angeles River Artists and Business Association, LARABA
The Arts District’s Weekly Farmers Market includes fresh fruit, veggies, gourmet treats (fig sweetened yogurt! goat cheese with cucumbers!), delicious prepared foods, baked goods (THERE WILL BE BREAD!), seating under the stars, live music, beer and art adjacent. Sponsored by Los Angeles River Artists and Business Association and Angel City Brewery with support from Council District 14. Tell your friends — spread the news! Let’s make this market a success! It’s OUR market!
Artists + Fleas opened in DTLA’s nearby Arts District in the Summer of 2014, bringing its unique, curated market approach to a city rich with art and craft shows, fairs and venerable flea markets to create a mash-up of these environments. The market is situated in the emerging Arts District, an area teeming with studios, workspaces, fine restaurants, specialty coffee roasters, and a rapidly emerging culture of urban arts and arts exploration. Artists + Fleas LA is a community event that showcases art, design and fashion alongside a selection of vintage and upcycled merchandise.
Starting September 10, 2016, Artist and Fleas returns every Saturday with the Arts District Farmers’ Market at the corner of Traction and E. 3rd Street.
