I love watching special events like Golden Globes, Oscars and similar events. The red carpet arrivals are really a display of interesting fashion and beauty trends. While makeup, hair and dresses are important for the look of any woman walking a red carpet, jewelry is like the icing on the cake for anyone going to a “red carpet” event–whether you are in Hollywood, New York or in your own home town for a wedding, reunion or important celebration.
While celebrities have the ability to borrow incredible jewelry and it looks great on them for an evening, most of us can’t afford those kind of price tags. While celebrities borrow jewelry like bracelets, earrings, necklaces and rings, they don’t get to keep them. They are required to return them promptly. When you and I attend a special event, we tend to buy something and plan on keeping it.
The Golden Globes was this past Sunday and some of the coolest jewelry looks seen at that event are available from designers who deal in less precious metals and stones. Here are a few on-trend jewelry pieces (as seen on the Golden Globes red carpet) and we were able to get some suggested substitutions that pick up the thread of that trend but for typically under $150.. though there is one piece that’s about $300 in this collection. I found several in the two groups that I would wear.
Take a few minutes and check out these interesting pieces and let me know which ones you would wear!
