It’s not always easy watching the Oscars. You might not have seen all the movies. (I haven’t seen them all). You might want to check out who’s on the list and maybe watch trailers of those movies to get an understanding of some of the dynamic of the movies. Here are some tips courtesy of the Academy as well as ABC.

· Pre-Oscars Extras:
If you have Xfinity, you can also access some special extras in advance of the Oscars via a curated Oscars destination inclusive of more than 1,500 hours of content, voice-activated Easter eggs (saying “Show me Braveheart” into the voice remote and you’ll hear Mel Gibson’s passionate raying cry), related news from the web) and a total of more than 700 Oscar-winning films.

Watching the Oscars – Sunday, February 26:
· LIVE Television Broadcast:
Tune into ABC on Sunday, February 26. The exclusive red carpet coverage begins at 7pm ET/4pm PT followed by the awards ceremony at 8:30pm ET/5:30pm PT.
Best Actor Nominees:
· On your laptop: Go to ABC.com and tune into the live stream (with a cable log in, of course).
· On your smart phone: Download the ABC app and watch the live stream there (also with a cable log in).
Best Original Song Nominees:
· Don’t have a cable subscription?
This is a little old-timey, but you can always buy an antenna, since ABC is technically free as long as you have the tools to receive the channel.
· Backstage Access:
If you’re an Xfinity X1 subscriber, you will have exclusive red carpet and backstage access directly through the TV starting at 7pm ET.
After the Show:
· Post-Oscars Access:
Worried about missing parts of the party or simply want to revisit certain portions of the show?
The entire Academy Awards broadcast will be available on demand for a limited time at abc.com or the ABC app. Xfinity subscribers will also have access to highlights from the event, including red carpet interviews, winner speeches, musical numbers, and skits.
Thanks to ABC and the Motion Picture Academy for sharing this information on how to best prepare for watching the Oscars.
