Campari Red Diaries are a series of short films that celebrate cocktails as story-telling devices, is led by a mini film noir called Killer in Red, which tells the story of how a cocktail by the same name came to be. Bringing the immense star power that is synonymous with Campari Calendars of years past (which has previously starred Kate Hudson and Uma Thurman), the film was written and directed by Italian award winner Paolo Sorrentino (most recently known for directing the HBO miniseries “The Young Pope”). It stars the globally-acclaimed actor Clive Owen, most known for his work in Closer, which garnered him an Oscar nod for Best Actor.
Mix up this great cocktail: Killer in Red
Ingredients
3/4 oz. Campari
3/4 oz. Cinzano 1757 Bianco
1/2 oz. Grand Marnier
3/4 oz. Chamomile Gin
Drop of Rose Essence
Method:
Pour all the ingredients into a mixing glass filled with ice and stir with a bar spoon.
Strain the cocktail into a chilled coupe.
Finish with a drop of rose essential oil and serve.

Kula Negroni – Julie Reiner
Here’s the thread that inspired the KULA Negroni recipe and the film!
When I opened my eyes I was in bed, at home. For a moment I thought it had all been a dream but then I realised that I was holding a fragrant red strawberry in my hand. I ran to the window but the sea in front of me was as calm as ever, as far as the eye could see.
At that moment I realised that that night, a mixture of dreams and reality, was my island’s and my childhood’s way of saying goodbye to me. For me that strawberry, still in my hand, was a precious gift.
I have never forgotten that night and years later, when I began working as a bartender, that strawberry was the inspiration behind my masterpiece, the KULA NEGRONI.
Kula Negroni
Ingredients
1 oz. Strawberry-infused Campari
1 oz. Cinzano Vermouth Bianco
1 oz. London Dry Gin
Orange Twist
Strawberry
Method:
In a mixing glass, combine Strawberry infused Campari, Cinzano Vermouth Bianco and London Dry Gin.
Add ice and stir.
Strain over one large ice block in a rocks glass.
Garnish with orange twist and a fresh strawberry.
These cocktails sound absolutely delish. It makes me want to hit my favorite liquor places to stock my bar with the fixings for these cocktails. YUMMY!! I love the films! Clive Owen is amazing.
