It’s almost Halloween and you should have some great wines to share with family and/or friends for the weekend’s festivities. Black Box Wines are unlike anything in a box you might have tried! This brand is something special – and I do not say that lightly!

About Black Box Wines:

In 2003, Black Box Wines redefined the wine category by becoming the first U.S. brand to offer premium, appellation-specific, vintage-dated boxed wines. Since then our expanding repertoire has earned more than 50 gold medals in wine competitions nationwide, yet still costs 40% less than comparable bottled wines.

Review of Black Box Wines:
Rose’ and Pinot Grigio!
I was sent a box of each the Rose’ and the Pinot Grigio for me to review. We cracked open the Pinot Grigio first- even before it was cold! That’s how enthusiastic my very picky wine-drinker partner was to test drive the Black Box Wines. He was skeptical about the brand but willing to give it a try! He popped open the box and we were both really surprised at how great that pinot grigio was. It was light but with substance, green notes with some floral aroma. I had a very clean, nicely dry finish. I liked it very much. Mr. Skeptical really liked it a lot. The box didn’t need to last 6 weeks because we drank it pretty quickly. It was our go-to wine for weeks!
We recently opened up the Rose’ to do a test on that flavor/varietal for this piece, and it was amazingly good. It’s light, flavorful and not sweet. It’s more of a dry rose’ that will work with lots of different foods.
I recommend Black Box Wines for you to try. Everyone has their favorite wines, I am sure there is at least one varietal from Black Box Winest at will suit your wine tastes!

As I indicated in the 2 wines I reviewed, the Rose’ is amazing and very flavorful. Here is a recipe for a FROZEN Rose’ that works perfectly for anytime, but particularly for Halloween. Black Box Cabernet Sauvignon + Grilled Steak and Chimichurri on Baguette Slices
Marinade Ingredients:
– 1/3 cup olive oil
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
– 1/3 cup soy sauce
– 1/4 cup honey
– 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper

Additional ingredients:
– 2 pound flank steak
– Kosher salt
– Freshly ground pepper
– Baguette, sliced

Chimichurri Sauce:
– 1 cup fresh Italian parsley
– 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
– 1/2 cup olive oil
– 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
– 3 garlic cloves, peeled
– 3/4 tsp dried crushed red pepper
– 1/2 tsp ground cumin
– 1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Make the sauce and grill the steak ahead of time. Score both sides of the steak with a sharp knife. Mix together the marinade ingredients. Add steak and marinade to a large freezer bag, seal the bag, and turn to coat the steak well. Chill and marinate for at least 1 hour and up to overnight.

Preheat your grill. Discard the marinade and sprinkle each side of the steak with sea salt and freshly ground pepper. Place the steak on the hot grill. When the steak has cooked to your preferred level of doneness, remove from the grill and place on a cutting board. Cover with aluminum foil and let rest for 10 minutes.

Cut into thin slices, against the grain, and at a slight diagonal so that the slices are wide. Place in a portable container for assembly on location.

Chimichurri Sauce:
Puree all ingredients in a food processor until everything is well blended. Transfer to a bowl or container with an air-tight lid and cover until ready to use.

When you arrive at your location, top each slice of baguette with a slice of steak and top with chimichurri sauce. Serve and pair with Black Box Cabernet Sauvignon, which is the ultimate pairing for grilled beef. Our Cabernet Sauvignon displays aromas of black currants, with hints of mocha and toasty oak. Black cherry and chocolate flavors come together with smooth tannins, l
