Here in LA, we have had SCORCHERS of days….. meaning the temperature is close to 100 degrees EVERY day and in some areas, it’s beyond that! It’s hard to believe that the dog days of summer haven’t hit yet — AKA August! But August is upon us and it’s time to rev the motor on your summer – and mine!)
If you haven’t been to an outdoor concert yet—there is still time!
The Original Farmers Market will be continuing with their free music series through 8/31 to help you make the most of these fading summer nights.
The West Patio will come alive every Friday night from 7pm-9pm, covering a range of musical genres from around the world. August will spice things up with some Salsa, Latin Jazz, Samba and Serious Funk—a variety to please any crowd.
Of course, a summer night at the Farmers Market is not complete without a little shopping and a lot of food and drink, so all of the grocers, restaurants, shops, and bars will be open for business.
If you make it to one of these events (OR MORE!!) I definitely grab some ice cream from Bennett’s, crisp bottle of white wine or rosé from Monsieur Marcel Gourmet Market, or a refreshing acai bowl from Greenhouse to stay cool in this heat!
August
8/3 Nutty (Jetsetter Jazz)
8/10 Louie Cruz Beltran (Latin Jazz/Salsa)
8/17 Larry O. Williams & Friends (Smooth Jazz w/ Serious Funk)
8/31 Katia Moraes & Brazilian Hearts (Choro & Samba)
Carve out some free time on a Friday and get to Farmer’s Market. Grab some food and definitely bring friends for a dancing party!
You won’t be sorry – and the shopping is really fun!!
