This is the biggest shopping weekend of the year. It kicks off with a pre-Black Friday buzz and launch of some sales, moves into the Black Friday frenzy and then continues with sales through the weekend and culminates with CYBER MONDAY. This post is about Cyber Monday and how to best maximize your shopping dollars by reading the amazing and insightful tips and tricks from the bargain hunters favorite website, BlackFriday.com. This site might be relatively new but it delivers powerful information and great tips & tricks for those who want to s–t–r–e–t–c–h their dollars to get the best gift items.
The biggest shopping day of the year is here (Black Friday), but it’s not the only opportunity for shoppers to save big this weekend.
Cyber Monday is now more than a decade old and was created as an online counterpoint to the brick-and-mortar-heavy Black Friday. In addition to giving online retailers a piece of the Thanksgiving weekend pie, it gives holiday deal-hunters a more convenient shopping option.

Whether Cyber Monday still stands on its own or has completely merged with Black Friday and the rest of Thanksgiving weekend is up for debate. See here for the day’s history and statistics on Cyber Monday shopping habits.
Keep reading for Blackfriday.com’s insights into what consumers should hold off on buying until Black Friday.
What to buy Cyber Monday
Laptops/PCs:
Cyber Monday centers on tech deals, meaning laptops, desktops and gaming PCs will be in the spotlight. You’ll find plenty of computer deals on Black Friday, it’s true, but you’ll see those deals repeated (or slightly improved) on Cyber Monday when eBay, Newegg and Amazon target tech shoppers.
And don’t forget about accessories. External storage, memory cards, cables, keyboards, headphones and the like will all be marked down.
Travel:
Save your online travel bookings for Cyber Monday. You’ll find airlines offering heavily discounted tickets on certain routes and travel sites offering flash deals on vacation packages. Booking sites, cruise lines and resorts alike are eager to sell inventory for the post-holiday period, and Cyber Monday deals are how they entice travelers.
Online subscriptions and educational software:
Cyber Monday began as the online-shopping counterpoint to Black Friday. So one little-known area with big potential discounts is online subscriptions. Think Audible, Udemy, Lynda and Rosetta Stone.
Clothing:
Clothing sellers, such as ASOS, Old Navy, Gap, and others, have a fantastic Cyber Monday tradition for clothing shoppers — sitewide discount codes. Instead of hunting for product-specific deals, just select what you want, enter the promo code and get 30% to 50% off your entire cart.
While Black Friday may boast deep discounts on specific items, we think sitewide promo codes are a far more time-efficient way to save. And, speaking of sitewide discounts, Target has made it a tradition (several years running) to offer 15% off sitewide (and it’s happening this year too)
