From MBLM’s “BFF Report”: Barack Obama Most Beloved Celebrity by Millennials!

Are you aware of the studies or surveys that you participate in actually do provide valuable insights into the lifestyle and opinions of men and women in most age groups? I am presenting some interesting survey results of a study/survey conducted by the MBLM company (pronounced as “emblem”.)

MBLM  has several studies and reports to share;

To better understand this impact, marketing firm, MBLM, has added to its annual Brand Intimacy Report, the largest study of brands based on emotions, with it’s BFF report which shares more specifics in a variety of demographics and other  comparative factors.

Michelle Obama is the most beloved celebrity by millennial women across the U.S. followed by Barack Obama and Dwayne Johnson, according to MBLM’s BFF Study.

The marketing firm created its inaugural BFF Study to complement its annual study of intimate brands, where it discovered media & entertainment brands are now the top industries.

The top 10 for women in the age group is rounded out by:
–Oprah Winfrey,
–Tom Hanks,
–Bill Gates,
–Serena Williams,
–LeBron James.

The main study provided the following very informative results:

Barack Obama is the most beloved celebrity by millennials across the U.S. followed by Michelle Obama and Dwayne Johnson, according to MBLM’s BFF Study.


“This study reveals which living icons we emotionally bond most with and why,” stated Mario Natarelli, managing partner, MBLM. “Just think about the impact these entertainers, politicians, athletes, entrepreneurs and spiritual leaders have on our lives and the products, services, policies and beliefs we buy, use and believe in. In this way, they are undeniably powerful brands.”

Today, entertainers, athletes, politicians, impresarios, and spiritual leaders drive many of the trends, beliefs, and messages we consume. Think about the world we live in and the impact they have on the products and services we buy, use, and sell. In this way, they are undeniably powerful brands.

To complement our annual ranking of brands based on emotion, we’ve released our BFF (Brand-intimate Famous Figures) study, which shares the most intimate living celebrity brands in the U.S. While the study covers 25 of today’s most well-known personalities, this article will focus primarily on the top 10. These results reveal the uniqueness of American culture today, with the top 10 representing two presidents, a former first lady, actors, a business luminary, musicians, and a religious leader. Other notable findings include:

·         Barack Obama ranked #1 overall with a Brand Intimacy Quotient of 77.5

·         He was also #1 for bonding, which is a deeper connection where you actively follow, watch and listen to the icon

·         Donald Trump dominated with men and older Americans. He had the strongest “can’t live without” measure and ranked highest on fulfillment, exceeding expectations

·         Tom Hanks ranked #3 among both men and women

·         The BFF Top 10 only had three women

·         Among female respondents, Michelle Obama ranked #1 and Donald Trump ranked #7

·         Colin Kaepernick ranked #1 for identity, having values people strongly identify with

·         Mark Zuckerberg, who ranked 17th, is closely aligned to his Facebook brand and ranked highest for enhancement, making people more capable and connected

·         Sean Hannity, who ranked 14th, was #1 in ‘fusing– the strongest stage of intimacy, reflecting who people aspire to, and was an extension of their own personality

·         Millennial men 18-24 ranked LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Barack Obama as their top three brands, while women the same age selected Michelle Obama, Rihanna and Barack Obama

This year’s Brand-Intimate Famous Figures (BFF) Study is based on an online survey among 1,003 adults, 18 and older, with quotas established by age, gender and region in order to insure national representation.
The survey took place from 10/23/18 through 10/26/18, and the margin of error at the 95% level of confidence is +/- 3.09%.

 Looking at Millennials:

–Millennial men and women have differing preferences.
–Men in the age group ranked more athletes in general and LeBron James first.
