It’s Glenn Close’s night to shine, in more ways than one! Celebrity hairstylist Brant Mayfield shares all the details of Glenn Close’s look- particularly her hairstyle!
“She’s wearing a pantsuit with hundreds of thousands of tiny Swarovski crystals on it, and her jewelry is all Cartier diamonds,” shares hairstylist Brant Mayfield. “It’s chic and surprisingly subtle, and we wanted her hair to have the same kind of subtle shine.”
So Mayfield created a soft, tousled look for Glenn, a nominee for Best Female Actor in a Leading Role.

“Glenn’s hair is naturally gray, which tends to be a bit drier, and it likes to lay flat,” explained Mayfield, who had Glenn prep by:
–washing her hair Leonor Greyl Bain Volumateur aux Algues for volume,–then conditioning with theLeonor Greyl Masque Fleurs de Jasmin, a delicious mask for fine strands that won’t weigh hair down.
–With Glenn’s hair towel-dried, Mayfield applied two drops of Leonor Greyl Sérum de Soie Sublimateur through her ends for smoothness,
–then sprayed on Leonor Greyl Condition Naturelle, a heat protectant and volumizer, to create lift at the roots.
–Then came a dollop of Leonor Greyl Mousse Au Lotus Volumatriceat the ends for smoothness and hold.
Mayfield then grabbed his blowdryer…but no brush!
“Glenn has a beautiful, natural wave to her hair that I wanted to keep,” says Mayfield, “so I finger dried her entire head.” Once Glenn’s hair was completely dry, Mayfield took a small, round brush and just picked up certain pieces and smoothed them out to make it look tousled.
“Then I used my absolute favorite product,” says Mayfield, “Leonor Greyl Éclat Naturel. It’s a cream that has a slight hold to it, so I can create perfectly piecey hair.” He worked it through the ends of Glenn’s hair, then finished off with a few mists of Leonor Greyl Lacque Souple hairsprayfor hold.

Mayfield is part of Glenn’s glam crew that’s worked together many times before, so everyone’s relaxed, even before a big night like the SAG Awards.
