Cocktails are interesting when they are made with interesting ingredients. Herbs typically aren’t used in most cocktails unless you consider using some chili powder for a bloody mary or salt on the rim for a margarita.
I am featuring 3 different herbs you might know (or not) that aren’t typically tied to cocktails: Dill, Lemon Verbena (also known as Luisa) and Mint!
I am sharing cocktail recipes that use herbs in their recipes.
While it’s preferable to have fresh herbs, you might not have a garden or able to find specific herbs in your local store or it might be that the price tag on fresh herbs doesn’t fit your budget. In a pinch, you could try Pereg dried herbs. Dry herbs used dry won’t give you the flavor punch for these cocktails. You might need to soak them in some of the spirit and mixes that are listed in these recipes– think of them as an infusion into the spirits and maybe the mixes too.
DILL— the herb associated with pickles!
The first herb is dill — not often found in cocktails but you would know them if you like pickles or if you make potato salad and add dill into the mix. I am pulling content from a variety of websites and I will be featuring the website I sourced in a link that mentions their name.
While I love playing amateur mixologist, I am not as skilled as these writers/owners of the various sites- which is why I am featuring their site and their cocktails.
