Attention Custom Car, Monster Truck Fans! TOYMAKERZ’ David Ankin Guest Blogs about Season 3 + More!

Are you are a car fanatic? Does going to a Monster Truck show make your weekend?  Are you a devout  automotive fan that you watch just about every car show on TV?
If you answered yes to any of those questions, this post is for you!  You probably are aware of the show called TOYMAKERZ   and David Ankin who is a notable stuntman, motorcycle racer and the genius behind this show!    I was introduced to this show and found it extremely interesting. It’s definitely more fun than most reality shows.   I am sharing some videos and photos from Season 3 of the show along with  (drumroll please!) a guest blog post from David Ankin on what “drives him” in this show. (That’s figurative question, not a literal one. I know he drives motorcycles and any number of great cars!)
–Perhaps the better term is what motivates him to continue to do not only the show but the actual work on the cars and cycles!

Here’s a video from Season 1, Episode 1 Highlights reel that will give you the initial introduction (or a walk down memory lane)

In case you aren’t familiar with  the ToyMakerz TV show background, here’s the scoop from their website:

ToyMakerz Celebrates the Spirit of American Machinery- and the Importance of Family Legacy!

by David Ankin

I’m a fourth-generation “ToyMaker,” and former celebrity stuntman-turned automotive mastermind and in my time have learned a love of hot rods, creative design, and a deep curiosity about machine operation from my father and grandfather. Before ToyMakerz or the Marvel superhero ever came about, my father was the original “Iron Man.” Widely known for his ability to build anything fellow peers would call him the “iron man.”  I was lucky to earn my stripes working alongside my own father – and great grandfather – who worked for car maker Studebaker.

As my masterful trade skill has come together I aim to pass this torch onto my own teen son, Brayden. And in one of our ToyMakerz’s episodes, Brayden and I give the audience a taste of what’s to come as we prepared for Brayden’s “Jr. Dragster” race.  The saying that “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” is so true,  and it was awesome to see Brayden out on the track for the first time. He clearly has an incredible future – after all, he is the next generation ‘ToyMaker’ and my son.

I build everything from hot rods and classics to muscle cars, trucks and motorcycles, and ToyMakerz gives America a front-row seat to the incredible process behind these powerful machines.

“As I’ve gotten older, I’ve had the unique privilege of getting to know some of the best designers, engineers, fabricators, and builders in the industry,” explains the Toymaker, “Surrounding myself with these same people has inspired me to develop a company that allows me a unique opportunity to bring multiple people together to build the baddest toyz on the planet!”

When they’re done building their custom motor monsters, David Ankin and the ToyMakerz love to push their creations to the absolute maximum…

“If you make it, then you get to play with it,” reiterates Toymakerz Master Fabricator Jason Hensley, “That’s the basic formula. If you can apply your mind and your focus, then the sky, or the open road is the limit!”
And of course, ToyMakerz stems from a long-held family tradition…
“Just as my father has inspired me, I hope to pass on that same inspiration to my son,” says David Ankin, The Toymaker, “He’s already trying to take over my toolbox and garage and is eager to tell me what the next build is going to be. I can already envision him as the next generation of Toymaker.”
At the end of the day, ToyMakerz is all about inspiring the countless Toymakerz out there to go and build, and drive, their dreams!

A former stunt man, motorcycle racer and custom vehicle fabricator, David Ankin has parlayed his life’s work into perhaps his greatest creation yet: Toymakerz, Inc. The Reidsville, N.C., company embodies the modern definition of its title, manufacturing “unique toys for big boys.” Ankin’s team specializes in producing “one-off” vehicles from race cars, custom motorcycles, trucks and unique reverse trikes, bringing the ingenuity and skills to satisfy a wide array of customers, from celebrities to international business magnets.
